well alessio is a former boxer and he's dropping from 205.

he looks like he has the advantage right now.

I was going to say the same. Sakara is a former Boxer, which to me would men his striking will be sharper than Leben's, who is a bit of a wild thrower.

%%!+!$% AMPED for Hendo/Silva!!!!

i still dont understand how Gurgel gets fights, hes a good trainer but as a fighter he gets owned most of the time. Herring vs Kongo has fire works in themaking, the good thing about herring is hes a damn gamer, i cant stand Kongo cause he ties up a lot but if he doesnt, dude is lethal with the striking.

the human pumnching bag with the hardest head ever aka leben needs to take this to the ground cause he actually had very good groundgame.

WHY THE HELL is jon fitch fighting someone thats not a contender!!?!?!? the one fight i WISH that would be televised is the cummo vs luigi fight those two aregamers. dont know if luigi still has that damn hole in his lips though cause that was a damn HOOLE in the lip 3 months cant heal it that fast i would think.

I can't go agaisn't Silva, but I know it will be a good match.

And Jon Fitch by Stoppage Strikes

His boxing sure didn't come handy against Houston Alexander.

I haven't seen a whole lot of Hendo fights but from what I've seen of Silva, he's such an exciting fighter to watch due to his versatility. So Ihope he keeps the belt. I also think he's the more humble fighter.

And? Was anyone in here talking about Houston Alexander?

Don't be so sensitive. My comment was in reference to your praise for his boxing skills, which apparently didn't prevent him from getting KTFO byHouston. What's wrong with that?

I am pissed I am going to miss it. I will have to catch the fights the next day somewhere. Anybody with a suggestion?

Silva-Hendo is such a toss up for me. I don't think Crazy Horse can take Kongo down. Training with Rampage, Bisping, Juanito, etc. he should have some goodtakedown defense. Only way I see Leben beating Sakara is with a lucky punch. He throws too wild. Okami is NASTY and I think is wayyyyy too much for Tannercoming back. Fitch via GnP easy. Arlovski with another lackluster performence against a pretty boring fighter for the win. Don't really care too much aboutCummo-Luigi. Blanket is too big for Hazelett. Pulling for Hazelett though, he's so slick on the ground. Sanchez gets an easier fight finally. Jorge islucky this fight is in Ohio.

Dont know much about David Bielkheden other than he is the only non Brazilian on BTT and he has some great GNP

EDIT: UFC signs Heavyweight Cain Velasquez.

Jon Fitch: And then the biggest one is Cain Velasquez. I like to call him "Sugar Cain." He's a heavyweight and he's the biggest and baddest heavyweight you guys have ever seen. He's going to turn the heavyweight world upside down in another year or two. Nobody is going to be talking about Kimbo. Nobody is going to be talking about Fedor or Randy. Everybody is going to be talking about Cain.

Sam Caplan: Has Cain fought pro yet?

Jon Fitch: Yeah, he's fought a couple of fights for Bodog. The problem is that we can't find fights for him because won't just take fights against him. I think what's going to happen is that he's going to fight at UFC 83. I think he's got a fight and they've got him on that card. So he'll be making his debut, I think, at UFC 83. I'm not 100 percent sure on that but he's been training for that and I think that's going to happen. He's tough. He was an All-American at Arizona State. He's just a tremendous athlete.
More Details on Landmark EliteXC-CBS Deal; Kimbo SlicePossible Headliner
Posted by MMA Junkie on February 27, 2008 at 6:48 pm ET

Earlier today MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) broke the news that ProElite, Inc., the parent company of Elite Xtreme Combat, appears to be on the verge of signing a landmark deal with CBS that will put MMA on major network television for the first time.

Thanks to Kevin Iole of MMAjunkie.com's partner site Yahoo! Sports, we now have a few additional details.

According to his report, the official announcement of the deal will come tomorrow. In it, EliteXC and CBS will confirm a four-fight deal that begins with an event in April.

Additionally, Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, the YouTube brawler who earned a lucrative long-term deal with EliteXC in late 2007, will likely headline the first CBS event - either in Atlantic City, N.J. or at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., Iole reports.

Ferguson, a former bodyguard in the pornography business who now trains with MMA legend Bas Rutten, most recently defeated veteran slugger David "Tank" Abbott in the main event of the organization's Feb. 16 "Street Certified" show. The event, which drew a sold-out crowd of 6,187, set a record live gate for the University of Miami's BankUnited Center.

Ferguson, who hails from Miami, was the primary draw for the event. As MMAjunkie.com previously reported, he earned an event-best base salary of $175,000, according to the Florida State Boxing Commission. Additionally, since our initial report, MMAjunkie.com has been informed that EliteXC officials, including EliteXC live events president Gary Shaw, and Ferguson have met and discussed a possible contract extension.

According to Iole, CBS is expected to air the EliteXC events on Saturdays as live two-hour broadcasts, most likely from 9 to 11 p.m. ET.

EliteXC, which was formed as a partnership with Showtime Networks Inc. in 2006, had previously aired almost all of its events on the subscription-cable channel. Earlier today Sam Caplan of fiveouncesofpain.com passed along a report that stated Showtime subscription totals rose 11 percent in the fourth quarter of 2007. A highly publicized October "ShoXC" event and a major November EliteXC show likely played a role in the increase.

Showtime is owned by CBS, which is an investor in ProElite.
