Just got into a 15 minute argument over Jeter after that double play he grounded into...
First started with the stat that the Core 3 have been together for 17 years.. I remarked that 2 of the 3 need to get off the team (Posada, Jeter)
Then he grounded into the DP.. And I said I can't take it anymore.. He needs to hang them up.. He is a hole in the lineup, and seems to contribute nothing important to this team anymore..
They claim that no matter what Jeter does you can't even criticize him..
My response is that no matter what he's done (and all due respect to Jeter for being one of the greatest Yankees) as a Yankee fan I'm less concerned about who he is, and more concerned about winning..
Then they say it is 15 or so games in, in a 162 game season.. He's having a slow start.. I respond no 162 game slow start last year plus 9 games in the playoffs plus 20 games this year.. He is becoming a cancer to this team because of who he is..
I know it's not going to happen mid season, but it is time to call it quits for Jeter...
