Official N.Y. Yankees 2012 SEASON THREAD (45-28) Vol. 6/25-27 vs CLE .. CC to the DL, & now Andy too

^ Yeah but bkmac has a different screenname now from when he created the thread.

And it looks like his bkmac name didn't get released from purgatory like a few others did with the migration to huddler so he can't edit the thread.

This is random but if MLB had an amnesty clause...do y'all think the Yankees would use it on A-Rod or are they expecting him to bounce back in the future? $113 million still owed over the next 5 years

. That's abysmal w/ his level of production in recent years and the injury history. Looks like dude isn't gonna sniff Bonds record and that was one of the major reasons they kept his bum *** in the first place.

I don't like using injuries as an excuse, the lineup is deep enough where they should be able to overcome it. I blame the cheap way of Hal and Hank.

Illo, they're hoping someone will take him off their hands. I'm still hoping for a stretch run that reminds us of how good he can be. This whole team is just getting old at the complete wrong time. Not to mention Curtis becoming Dave Kingman.

I wouldn't be mad at all if we traded him... I'd take solid back end rotation guys for him... And go into FA looking for someone to share time at 3B with Chavez who I believe should be a big priority to resign in the offseason (After Cano & Grandy's options.. And trying to extend Soriano (we'll have to overpay on him... But we need him to stay around with Mo only playing next year and then his calling it a career)... And resigining Swisher who regardless of disdain some have for his playoff performance and I agree.. He's one of the best #6 hitters in the league, and good clubhouse guy)..

If we did get rid of him though.. I would want them to at least look for someone to replace his power numbers at DH. Or move Swish into the DH role... Hamilton which I believe Rangers will keep him, but Cash will go after him.

Or moving A-Rod to full time DH... And doing the same thing with Chavez and finding someone to split 3B.

Hamilton in NY will = trouble. I think Soriano has a player option for $13mm so I think he'll be here unless someone foolishly offers him more than that. After that, you can find better than that somewhere TBH. Especially since they're concerned about money all of a sudden now.

Binge Drinking FTW?

I think it'd be great to keep Soriano.. And you're right doubtful someone goes $14-15 on him.. Hell Rivera barely got that... If it comes to losing him and a million or two a year.. I'd keep him..

If we stay healthy... Robertson 7th.. Soriano 8th.. Rivera 9th is great.. Then have Boone as our lefty specialist.. And Hughes be a spot starter/ Long Reliever where he needs to be. Should be enough.. If need be look for 1 more bullpen arm or bring up both of the B's in the minor leagues and let them fight for #5 starter/bullpen.

Actually since we are "saving money"... We definitely need to drop ARod to get us over the hump.

It sucks because all the concrete is there to be a 105 win World Series team... Just Age/Injuries/Contracts are now our obstacle

Pro I've PMed Meth multiple times when we made the switch to these new forums about giving me the ability to edit the thread title, but he hasn't answered since he told me to ask in the Staff Help section.

I am going to try PMing ska :nerd: , because he helped out when I was originally banned on YUKU.

FWIW, being 45-28 doesn't look so bad right about now  :smh: .

Alex hits a double with two on and we only send one. Our third base coach needs to go.

Got some runs though. Martin doubled.

Yeah the energy from Cal and a sold out stadium tonight are wild.

It was pouring rain here this morning and I randomly got strep throat last night. I was hoping to head to the Yard today too. :smh:

Hope we miss the postseason so this clown Girardi gets fired and were forced to bring in some real players this offseason. We were never as good as our record indicated
