I'm not sure what people saw from 04-08 that made people think that Suns team was as far as D'Antoni's system can possibly go. Other than analysts like Barkley saying it over and over.

I wouldn't say those Suns teams necessarily represent the peak for the D'Antoni system. Were it not for a couple of bad breaks along the way, those teams could have gone farther than they did. But I'm also not convinced this Lakers team is the one to take the D'Antoni system to the next level. They're still an older team, with a weak bench and very inconsistent outside shooting. Its going to be interesting to see how those things mix in with D'Antoni's style, which, so far, has relied heavily on 3 point shooting and playing starters heavy minutes, among other things. I personally don't think its the best match between coach and personnel, but I could be proven wrong.

There was an article a few days ago that Jimmer was in the Kings long term plans, despite his limited playing time.. Leads me to believe one of the PGs or SGs will get dealt this season
