If the Celtics/Clippers trade goes thru and KG/Pierce never play a single minute, they still upgrade from Vinny to Doc Rivers, hence, huge improvement/won the trade.

Period.

Nah,

Griffin is still Griffin, hes soft and has no offensive moves. You need Garnett next to him and Pierce is icing on the cake.

If Clippers nab KG and PP for basically nothing they should come out the West easily IMO as much as i hate CP3 and BG

Even Scottie shops at Costco. That's my MILF central.

Never thought Danny Green would fulfill his role quite this well.

Boston needs to stop with the shopping Rondo rumors. Surround him with the right complimentary shooters.

An older KG and PP doesn't make this Clippers team contenders. I wanna see them get Granger, he'd be great with CP3 and Blake.

Rondo is one of the 10 best players in the league.

Nothing about him is expendable

People forget Tony Parker had no jumper early in his career. Rondo with a jumper is hands down, without question, the best point guard in the league... without the jumper, still top 5.

No. I'm not trading him. Sorry.

Why you telling me?

The Celtics and Ainge have been the ones who've put him on the trading block at every deadline.

He's been expendable according to the Celtic front office.

Don't shoot the messenger.

It's not just that he has no jumper. It's the fact that he refuses to look for his own on offense, to the point where it's detrimental to the team.

I really like Rondo, his court vision/passing skills = HNNNGH

But in today's NBA, you can't be an effective PG if you add nothing to your team in the scoring department. When your PG isn't a threat to score it completely changes the way defenses play against you. It makes it harder for the other 4 guys on the team to operate. It's not like the 80s-90s where you ran everything through the post game. These days offense is usually initiated by perimeter players.

Parker didn't always have a jumper, but he would always put pressure on defenses with his ability to score off penetration. When you watch the Celtics play, Rondo doesn't even pretend to look for his own shot most of the game. And he doesn't get to the line either. He's a one-dimensional player on offense, the one dimension being passing.

Rondo is a brilliant passer, but as an overall offensive player he is expendable. In today's perimeter-oriented league, I would rather have my PG give me 7-8 assists + 15-18ppg, than 11 assists + 10-12ppg.

No matter how you slice it a point guard wih either of those stats is responsible for 30 to 34 points

I rather have a passing point guard cause at the end of the day thats the job description, if Rondo remains at the helm all of boston would be estatic

Only reason he was even in trade talks was because he has a bad attitude, drove ray allen away and started to drive doc rivers away dude was destroying the team

Rondo not having a jumper is over exaggerated. Dude was hitting in the playoffs last year against miami. He even went for 40 against us.

Nah man...Rondo can't shoot for ****. Keep trying to convince yourself off one or two games though.

Lol he has gotten a bit better but im not stupid i know he has no jumper he still be cooking without it

The Cs with Rondo leading will be alright, he really has come into his own

Rondo just needs to work on his mechanics; his elbow points outward too much on his shooting hand. He may feel like he's shooting on the money, but that form hurts his trajectory/accuracy. A wrist-guided shot like his is more likely to stray from its intended course. An elbow guided shot, however, is more steay. I've known people that could make the right adjustments and cater to a wrist shot, bjt rondo probably feels like his calculations are correct, and doesn't want to change. I'm sure they are, but his form needs to be calibrated.

If he spends a summer with a pure shooter like danny green, rondo will be a problem.

Sure on the boxscore they're responsible for X number of points, but it's not the same in the actual game impact.

If your PG isn't a threat to score, that's one less guy the defense has to worry about and now your team is playing 4v5 pretty much. And if you can't score or shoot FTs you're basically useless in late-game isolation situations. Bottomline your PG needs to be able to score to keep the defense honest.

:lol Matter fact who am I telling, I know you're a Wiz fan. How much did the game open up for the man in your avy when teams started seeing that he was a threat to score?

Not saying the Celtics should get rid of Rondo. But dudes are saying he isn't expendable as if he's a franchise cornerstone with no holes in his game. If it came down to it, the Celts could move Rondo and it wouldn't be the worst thing it the world. If they rebuilt the right way Ithink they could still be contenders in the East.

I would be tight if the Celtics traded Rondo or Avery Bradley. If you're rebuilding , isn't the whole point to acquire good, young, players? i.e. Rondo and Bradley. They already here.

Rondo/Bradley/Green/Sullinger is a good starting point IMO

IMO KG, PP and Doc arent putting the Clips over the top in the West. Theyre looking TIRED. Still effective, but you can see both of them becoming more and more fatigued every second theyre on the floor. Dudes have like a year or two left tops . Doc is the crown jewel, doe.

Excited to see what happens

Man if LeBron still cant shoot in the eyes of the public, then there is no way in hell that Rondo can be regarded as a good shooter. NO NO NO
