Great guy. Good basketball mind. Above average coach.

Everybody can't be Pop or Kerr, but everybody should be able to do the fundamental things while coaching, and after watching nearly every game while he was here, he didn't do that. Yes, he is a great guy, and has a great basketball mind, but he is no where near an above average coach. He also passed those same traits down to JB Bickerstaff.

“He was trying to draw plays, and it was like a little Etch and Sketch. Like a kid just messing around… He just gave the clipboard to the assistant coaches sometimes.”

He doesn't have a leader type personality, that's what Paul is for, despite his own shortcomings. But to take McHale's words as the gospel is LOL. These are the same people who said Harden got him fired, even though McHale got himself fired due to not knowing when to call timeouts, not changing up rotations, leaving guys in games to die when they're clearly struggling, pulling them when they're hot, and sticking guys in the doghouse for minimal reasons. Those teams were winning games in spite of him, not because of him.
