If Melo can't accept a diminished role and that he's a stretch 4 in the league then it's not going to work out for him wherever he is.

For PG, it makes sense financially, but he will have a worse team
For OKC, it's a win as they get valuable pieces and maybe one bad contract
For LAL, they pay more for PG and lose valuable pieces but they get to unload a bad contract
It's a tough pill to swallow for LAL.
