Am I the only one who doesnt understand the Lebron to Philly fit? You can't really have 4/5 of your lineup be mediocre 3 pt shooters.

if i was a betting man...
lebron stays in cleveland
trades that 8th pick
and prays someone takes jr, tt, and other big contracts
LBJ is gunning for Kareem's record more than anything
and will still lose to the warriors in the finals. prepare for cavs/dubs part V, VI, VII, VIII, and possibly IX

It's Philly or LA for Bron. I think if PG signs with LA within the first couple days of free agency, Bron is coming here unfortunately.
You're completely naive if you think Bron is going to come here and not want to play GM. Magic unfortunately will bend to his whim and we're going to end up selling the farm for Kawhi to compete for 2 years maybe as this dude Bron finishes his mercenary tour. The timeline doesn't match up with the young guys we have.
kawhi is only 26. pg is 28. you give up every piece if you can have these two for the next 5 yrs and that doesnt even include bron coming and filling the roster with vets
I have no idea how anyone could watch this dude play basketball during these playoffs and think "yeah, I don't want that dude on the Lakers", unless it involves "I can't stand him, therefore I can't root for him" reasons. But as far as basketball reasons? Really? He's one of the 5 best players of all time, he's the current best player in the world on top of that, he's available as a free agent and, thus, we don't have to trade anyone to get him, and many of y'all don't want him?
You're an instant contender with this man, and we don't have to gut the young core to acquire him. He would be coming almost certainly with one of the best two-way wings in the sport in PG, and the rest of the team would have an upward trajectory due to the youthful assets, whether they just stayed and got better or whether we traded one or more of those assets for even more All-Star talent.
I'm starting to believe to that the "keep the young core at all costs" people just want an excuse not to get Lebron. Some people think we trying to set up a Golden State dynasty with the current core. I personally don't see that potential with our crew even though I love them and many of us think they do. Even if they are that great, don't you think the Warriors would have signed a 33 year old Lebron in 2013? Maybe there are people insecure that Lebron winning here would diminish Kobe's legacy which it wouldn't.
Also someone in the LA sports media needs to educate the general fanbase that getting Lebron won't cost the entire young core. What I hear from most fans is that they don't want Lebron because all the young pieces would be gone which isn't the case.
There are Lakers fan with the mentality that "I'd rather lose without Lebron than win with him" . We're the only fanbase that doesn't want to add the best player in the league because of loyalty to a retired player.

Honestly though, who has Lebron gotten traded? The only trade I can remember is the Kevin Love trade where they gave us Wiggins (kinda bust) and Bennett (allt-ime bust) for Love which is an all-time great trade IMO. The bigger issue is Lebron trying to play GM and giving his friends big contracts (i.e Tristan Thompson)
Ben is the only non-shooter in the lineup. JJ Redick is a top 5 shooter in the entire league. Dario and Embiid are both good shooters. Did you watch any of our games this year? We were shooting threes like crazy. It was basically Ben, Embiid and a bunch of shooters. LeBron gives us the other playmaker we need.
Embiid is a really good shooter from anywhere on the floor for a center. I really don’t care about you pointing out his three point percentage this year. He put up way too many dumb ones that lowered his percentage. Every center in the league still is scared of him shooting from out there and continues biting on his pump fake.
Im guessing if Lebron goes there they would start Fultz or maybe they just completely give up on him. But Embiid is a 30% 3pt shooter, Simmons is awful, lebron is 36%, Fultz is awful, and then Redick who is fantastic.
A lineup of Ben/Dario/Lebron/Embiid/Redick seems redundant at many different levels.
Ben would be literally the only player in that lineup not a shooting threat. I’m failing to see the redundancy in any of the 5 of them besides LeBron and Ben both being big *** point forwards. Dario can bring up the ball too and create for others. They’re the #1 passing team in the league...LeBron would have no problem playing with any of them.
