from the NY TIMES

The Knicks would send the No. 6 pick, forward David Lee and another player to the Trail Blazers for the 13th and 27th picks and a player, possibly Steve Blakeor Jarrett Jack. (Portland is acquiring the 27th pick from New Orleans.)

It wouldn't be THAT bad...if you don't get Bayless or Mayo I would trade down as well...you'd get a solid player at #13 and then also anotherpick in the first round at #27

Still

Why is Mike D'Antoni so hung up on David Lee?

And even if that's the case, that's definitely not a good deal for NYK.

As for the Brand/Marion rumor, I'd much rather have Marion in a Heat uniform. Brand is great when healthy, but he's a back to the basket/15 foot jumpshooter. I'm not comparing them, but Haslem can give you that element to a certain degree. Marion gives you that quickness and above the rim game. Andcan step out and hit the 3.

What is Pat thinking?

Also, isn't it rumored the Carlos Boozer will sign w/ the Heat after his contract is up w/ Utah because he has a house in Miami and he likes it there? So if they did this trade, putting Brand at the PF spot, Boozer in Miami probably wouldn't happen. Why not draft OJ (even though I want my Wolves to gethim) and then pick up Boozer when his contract is up?

I saw somebody posted the draft starts @ 7:30. Does this mean coverage is starting at 7:30 or David Stern will be on the podium at that time announcing theBulls are on the clock?

Coverage starts at 7 on ESPN. I wouldn't expect Stern to drop Rose's name until 8 o'clock or a little after.

Bulls would take Beasley before Mayo and they would also rather add veteran talent than build their team with two 19 yr old rookies.

Yea, at 7 they always got the crew talking about the rookies & showing some highlights & all. Draft don't actually start until about 730.

Pat's an idiot.

Question: It won't happen in this draft, but does the NBA do what the NFL does? Where the team w/ the #1 Pick willtell the media who they are picking with the first pick and then they will sometimes sign a contract before the draft even starts? I know the NFL did that withJake Long, Mario Williams, etc. I don't remember it ever happening in the NBA.
Pat's an idiot.

Were you responding to what I said? I just don't get why they would want Brand when it is rumored that Boozer wants to go there after hiscontract is up w/ Utah. Miami needs to make the right selection here.

Nowitness, who does the Mavs have to splash into the top 10? Sounds like J-Ho is a goner.
What little I've read seems to suggest it would be a situation where the draft didn't break down the way a team up there had hoped, and itwould be a case where the Mavericks trade Stackhouse or someone like that to take back a longer, more financially restrictive contract...

Just, for example, something like the Knicks trading Jared Jeffries, Eddy Curry, or Jamal Crawford and the 6th pick for Stackhouse and Eddie Jones so they canget all that extra cash off the books another year earlier (after 2009-2010, rather than the following season)...

Doubt it'll happen, but I guess you never know.

Here's another I just found, but I never take anything for this site seriously... So for discussion's sake...
Heard rumors about Memphis #5, Mike Miller, and Brian Cardinal to Dallas for Josh Howard, Stackhouse, #51 and something else (either cash, filler, or a future pick).
Yeah, I think I probably make that trade.

That Brand/7 and Marion/2 rumor has been running for a while now, I still wouldn't do it

Hopefully Pat feels the same way

Just take Beasley please.

Richard Jefferson traded to the Bucks for YI and Simmons

Just seen this this second actually on RealGM boards & ESPN radio said something about it.

I'll try to find more info.

Im not liking this...
