Official New Balance Thread *sizing info for different models on first page*

All this thirst over a very average colorway and model. At least in my opinion.

It's just crazy to see the hype levels build with each and every collabo drop, whether the shoe warrants it or not. Things keep getting crazier and crazier. Makes me wonder if the bubble will ever burst.

Truth. IMO there hasn't been a single collab this year that even comes CLOSE to the top 5 of last year. Certainly if things continue the way they are then 2012>>>>>2013.

different strokes for different folks..
Indeed.  Although I will say that people getting multiple pairs on multiple trips to Ubiq says something about the perceived hotness of this release.  When was the last time that happened with a limited collaboration?

Regardless of all that though, you can't deny the madness that seems to build with each "limited" release.

I think anytime you have a "limited" shoe it makes it that much more desirable. Everyone wants what they cant have.

Look at "what the MVP" they look like clown shoes. yes they are cool to look at and all, but to walk around town in not so much. If you don't know anything about shoes they are laughable. Yet all shoe heads know what they are how rare and much they fetch on the open market. $3k +

What the dunk sbs another rare and hideous shoe.

New Balance "ball and buck" only like 176 in each color way made. not my kind of style. They seem to be selling for $400-500.

the list gos on and on and on,,,,,

Meh.....not worth it.  The standard "your money, use it how you want" response was expected.

Carry on.

That's because of the belief that every New Balance x [sneaker boutique] will be sought after years after their release. The problem with that assumption is that those who stock every "hot" release to sell down the road don't realize what most knowledgeable collectors look for in NB retros: faithful (or close enough) reproduction of the original product. That's why older UK 1500 go for much more money than Asian 1500, which don't even resell for much more than retail.

Depends on the level of interest in the brand.

When you go outside the Nike/JB bubble, you realize that there are a lot of limited and rare sneakers that have been sitting for years because of a lack of interest in them. As a result, the likelihood of making a profit (or getting your money back) after reselling such shoes is very low. I have sold Adidas released exclusively in Italy for less than $50. I have seen Pumas that were never released to the public sit without bids on Ebay at reasonable prices. I paid less than $200 for the whole Adidas Forum Crest Hi pack (300 pairs for each one of the 3 colorways) when each pair originally retailed for $140 and they're still sitting at discount prices.

Nothing guarantees that years from now, every hot/limited NB of the past 2 years will be worth more than retail; as a matter of fact, I believe most current collabs
not made in the US/UK will see their value decrease once the hype dies down.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Some people even refuse to take a loss, resulting in an increase in opportunity costs. Get rid of that shoe, take that money, and put it toward something that will sell. Eventually you will get your money back, you just have to free up some cash to do so.

I totally agree with your point, but the ball and bucks are insanely sex. Simple, yet different. Still can't even figure out when I'm gonna un ds them hah.

Hey Guys,

I don't spend too much time in the NB thread, but I live in Philly, frequent Ubiq often, and just wanted to give you all a first hand account of how the release went down.

First off, anyone that actually went to Ubiq could have bought as many pairs as they could afford. At peak, the line was maybe 100-125 people...there had to be at least 400 pairs sold that day. Those pics that you see on IG/FB/Twitter are legit and no, you didn't need multiple people with you to make that happen. My girlfriend and I left with 12 pairs and we could have gone back for at least 6 more.

Each pair came with the dust bag and t-shirt (for you guys that did phone/web orders, you will DEFINITELY receive the dust bag, as it is inside the shoe box, and you will almost certainly receive the navy blue shirt as there seemed to be an endless supply of those and one was given out with each pair of sneakers bought).

I have NOT seen a picture of the special box yet...I was fortunate enough to win one and my girlfriend won one, which was awesome. The box is something SPECIAL. I will admit that i'm a Nike head, and presentation is something that i'm used to getting jerked on...but this box is absolutely amazing. I'll upload pics when I get home. The craftmanship from Good Wood is stunning...I'm almost definitely NOT selling either box.

Overall, good release. I was SUPER happy to see that the wooden boxes were absolutely random and all 24 were given away to random winners. You literally picked the pair that you wanted (hundreds stacked up in the regular NB box), after you paid for the pair, the store manager opened the box and if your had 1 of the 24 randomly placed metal keys, you won the special box.

Hope this helps...I'll be back tonight with pics. You can also check Ubiq's IG to see all 24 winners of the special box. I'm apthechamp (humble brag).

Peace.
Bless wit a pair for retail since u got some many pairs for no reason lol. I can understand buyin an extra pair to keep on ice or maybe sell but 12 pairs? Come on now
