I'm not stressing the Jeter stuff, I know it will get done, probably during the Winter Meetings, along with Cliff Lee.

Jeter is a below average shortstop and a average hitter now. Why would we make him the second highest player in baseball. Did you see how he hit last year?

word a-rod came off back to back mvp type of years. dude was a monster when we gave him the monster contract. and he was finally coming through in the clutch. jete is coming off his worst season of his career.

As great as A-Rod was, Yanks paid way over market value for reasons I still haven't figured out. What other franchise was willing to pay ~300 mil? They probably paid him TWICE what he was worth. I don't even think Pujols will get 300, and A-Rod is no Albert Pujols.

And there were potential suitors for him.. All 30 teams wanted him... Out of those a handful were willing and able to pay a top dollar contract. To keep him from leaving, and going to the Red Sox or another team that the Yankees compete with, the Yankees paid even more
