OFFICIAL NFL OFFSZN THREAD 2023-24: R.I.P Jacoby Jones

Couple of things:

- It's week 1. It's Sean Payton's first game in Denver (no film to really prep). The game is IN Denver. The Raiders had HELLA costly mistakes at crucial times. But none of that **** mattered. They got it done at the end.
- After a shaky start, the defense I thought clamped down and found their grove. Not bad for week 1, but if this defense wants to take the big leap we'll need, they HAVE to find a way to create turnovers. This team had like 6 total last year, which is embarrassingly low.
- The defense tackles really good. I know it's 1 game, but this game was probably the best tackling i've seen from a Raiders team in a LONG time. When a WR caught a pass, he didn't get much YAC (minus that one where Samaje Prenine got loose on the sideline but ran out of bounds). They kept Javontae Williams locked up pretty well too.
- JJ8 looked rusty but still managed to be effective. I expect him to get going in the next few weeks.
- Jakorian Bennett was getting roasted in here earlier, but I thought he did aiight for his first NFL game. Sean Payton/Russell Wilson were clearly targeting him early and often. I'm hopeful he'll be a good CB2.
- Jakobi Myers was balling. I honestly expected this since so much attention should be given to Tae. Hopefully he's okay.
- Jimmy...Man... I was pissed at him for that INT. But I was hyped AF when he got that 1st down. I know this is the first game, but things did seem to flow a bit better with him under center. Quick and decisive decisions. Post game interview from the players had literally every player callin Jimmy a "Dawg". You can tell the lockerroom ****s with him heavy.
- Oline with 0 sacks :pimp:

A couple?! Or a myriad of things?

How was NFL Sunday ticket on YouTube? Better?

Personally, I didn't like it "better". But it was ok.

I LOVED the Quad screen. THAT was fantastic. Serious game changer.

The downside? To toggle between games or local I had to move from YouTube to DirecTV to Paramount+. :{ (CBS is in a dispute with DirecTV so I had to use Paramount for those two games)

Logging into each burned time I didn't want to waste. Changing channels was so much simpler/easier. If they had just added Quad screens years ago they might have added more viewers long ago.

Jimmy G might not be able to throw an intermediate-to-deep pass to save his life but that man would stand in the pocket, take a hard *** hit and get right back up without yelling at dumb *** mike mcglinchey for being a traffic cone . his teammates definitely rock with him. he's got his limitations but he's a solid leader.

rooting for pornstar jimmy to do his thing with the raiders.

cant believe mcglinchey got paid all that money

that was last page bro. no one will see it.

Been there...

You shouldn't have said wrong thread tho...seen your post, by the time I quoted it, it had me questioning where I was...but I just jumped over to the Raiders thread, copy/paste into my original quote to get rid if that...thing...and, here we are...

This team has such a fragile level of confidence.

As soon as that false start occurred they got into their heads and the that horrendous snap and TD followed and was the nail in the coffin.

That's 12 of the last 13 against the Cowboys being losses.

I remember when Mike Kafka played for the Eagles in 2011. He threw two picks in a game against the Giants.

He sucked.

Now he's the Giants' offensive coordinator, sucking it up.

I had to look up and find out if last night was the most lopsided opening game in the history of Sunday Night Football.

Nope.

Steelers beat the Browns 43-0 in 1999, in the ESPN days.

Washington beat Detroit 45-0 in 1991, when TNT had the rights for half of the season.
