Why? Smh

"Hey, you know how the More Uptempos say "AIR" on each side in huge letters?"

"Yeah...it's literally the selling point of the sneaker. Old heads eat it up."

"Let's cover it with a giant swoosh!"

 If anyone thinks that this company isn't willingly robbing us, they need to be smacked.

That giant swoosh is what people have been begging for on Jordan 1s and Dunks. The current baby swoosh on Jordan 1s is comical.

But they put a giant swoosh on a shoe we don't want.
Not only did they put a giant swoosh on a shoe we don’t want, they put a giant swoosh on a section of the shoe that doesn't have a swoosh anyway.

So this is what it’s come to? :smh:

Embarrassing lol

Just stop it Nike...

I didn't even see these till now. Holy %&*$&^%!
Along with it being horrible for all the obvious reasons, I genuinely wonder what kind of logic occurs at Nike HQ. Why even go to the trouble of designing this variation, putting it into production etc.? Like how many pairs of these are they really gonna sell? And meanwhile as usual, the Chicago colorway continues to be locked away in some moron's vault. It's WILD over there ...

This is a genuine question, because I'm old and I guess I don't hang out in the right places to know the answer:
Is this model in general hugely popular nowadays? I'm not sure I've ever seen one person wearing a pair, but I assume the model must move units, given how many colorways and variations Nike cranks out. Are "kids" into these? Are they seen on courts? Just seems like an odd choice of a shoe for Nike to be running into the ground like this.

Yes, they're semi-popular. If I had to rank retro shoes by popularity it would go like this: (at least where I'm from)

Jordans
Dunks
Air Force 1
Air More Uptempo

And those first three above the Uptempo are usually sold out so that makes them the next solid choice.

Ehh those are ok. They’re better than the last couple and the split black/red/navy.

I'll say these still come across as bold to a lot of kids and that part makes sense. That gigantic spell out air is one of the wildest things Nike did. I think they are flooding them because they can rely on them to do relatively well without slashing prices to oblivion on them. Some of them 'sit' but they can release them and know they will largely be gone in a month or few months at worst.

Even some of these disastrous CWs.

Interesting. I'll pay more attention around here in L.A. now LOL. I really can't remember ever seeing someone rocking these on the street. If I have, it's only been once or twice. If they'd bring back the damn Chicagos, I'd be one person rocking them, that's for sure
