They are because of the shoes construction - it doesn't have a classical foam midsole cunstruction but a rubber outsole. If you wear them you'd probably get a seperated sole but that's an easy thing to fix.

Should be perfectly fine for casual wear. Break 'em in around the house for a bit and just check the sole for any type of separation.
