Seems like y'all have your hands full.

I'm passing. I just got a Nike Dunk SB that should've released years ago. Hopefully the foams are still available tomorrow at Nike Santa Monica... Not even JB makes it this difficult. Smh.

Received my eastbay e-mail for Order/shipping confirmation on the OC's I ordered through the phone around 9:30pm.. Wheeww, another string of luck. thanks for canceling Jdub562! haha. Goodluck to those who are ordering tonight or lining up at midnight.

^Yeah I saw those lacing videos a little while back. Honestly though, a big part of the heel slippage I think is because the shoes/insoles aren't totally broken in yet, at least for me. I've played in my Grinches for a couple of games now, and it's gotten better and better with more time. Don't know how it's been for the rest of you guys.

nwt...you serious??? what kind of dunks? lunar sb?

^ Thanks for sharing Decepticon0... Looks interesting esp. the first technique...
I agree about the breaking in part... I worn my E. LA's once and it felt loose, but the 2nd wear it felt better on the heal area... I willing to bet that it will get even better, but for balling, I might try the first technique...

i really think this is the direction for the promotion of the line....and its working. its a love/hate relationship with kobe. outside of la, his following is nowhere close to the love showered by la fans.  props to nike.

Hey everyone, congrats to everyone that was able to order a pair, sorry to hear so many people missed out.  Unfortunately, this was an EXTREMELY LIMITED launch, which was mentioned several times in this thread, along with the last two other Kobe VI launches.  I am not sure how else to keep saying this, but the demand was greater than the supply.  Not everyone is going to be able to get a pair.

ladies and gents- I think its time to be honest here

#1.  Being on the phone with Eastbay doesn't seem to guarantee any more success than trying online(Rep alluded to the fact that ph. operators may not have any quicker access to their system than the average joe)
#2.  Eastbay seems to have very few pairs ( 1,2, maybe 3 at most of each size- that may be a stretch)
#3.  This has truly become a "lottery" type program which means, if you are fortunate enough to get your pair, you were probably one of thousands of folks trying(maybe hundreds, but more than likely thousands)

As for the ""ALL PAIRS WERE SOLD OUT 3 MINS PRIOR" TO MIDNIGHT", that is unlikely.  None of the phone agents should be placing orders until 12 AM EST.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the phones, the phone agents can not just drop a customer if they are trying to order other items, check on the stock of an item, etc...  If you call in early and tell the phone agent you are waiting for the new release, they will probably drop you, since the shoes are not available yet.  Otherwise, none of the phone agents should be adding the shoe that is being released to an order until 12 AM EST, so there is no way a release shoe will sell out before its release.

Pretty funny stuff.  Here's the thing- they'll tell you flat out that GOLD CLUB doesn't guarantee a damn thing- FINE, no issues there- how can I guarantee anything come release day- YOU CAN'T-

OK - so what's the point of the countdown timer and having most of us good paying and loyal customers observe it- when in reality- you start taking orders prior to the countdown timer reaching ZERO???

NOT EASTBAY REP'S FAULT, BUT DEFINITELY AN ISSUE.  ONE THAT SHOULD BE RESOLVED AND OR CLEARED UP. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.  EVERYONE IN THE ONLINE OR PHONE LINE WORLD "SHOULD BE" ON AN EVEN PLAYING FIELD- I THINK

Waiting for some Jag to start posting how "I got 3, free shipping, 20 % using gift cards"- easy cop.

Right- There were probably less than 50 pair total.  Would love to get a tally from all those legit NT'ers who actually get a pair from Eastbay.

VERY SIMPLE EASTBAY- Drop them at 11 CST- no phone orders, no LAME %$# TIMER, 1st come, 1st serve in the virtual world known as the world wide web.

Again, no phone agents should be placing orders for the shoes until 12 AM EST.

I also think that with these limited releases, customers should only be able to order them online, to give everyone a fair chance.

This is what I was saying.  My previous response to Bryscooplaygrifhold:
"100% right.  The countdown timer is whack.  The phone call order process is whack.  EB seriously needs to look at these big releases and make substantial changes for their major releases.  But really it's EB--they don't give a rats @ss.  Otherwise, we would have seen significant changes a long time ago.  They are a company, under FTL (might I add), that cares about the bottom line like most companies do.  Yes, EB Rep Ray is nice and tries to help out ... but he's just one person that doesn't have a lot of power.  It's the story we all know and keep reliving.

I'm not going to EB bash, but this same song has been sung many times now, and I hate knowing all the words by heart. "

See, as I said .... not a lot of power.  No diss -- just truth.

If EB was proactive, they would continue to improve the process  for major releases -- both online and over the phone.  I'll just say this.  I have been able to order releases over the phone before the "official" release time, but that was a long while ago.  Now when I call, even if it's 5 min early, I can't even get through--even through a Gold line (a waste, imo).  Last year, I got an order to go through online with a confirmation number and confirmation Email that began with a "G."  That order got canceled on me and refunded.  I lost out on a shoe I really wanted.  When the CG XIs came out, I could not get through over the phone and I called (no lie) about 1200 times within an hour on two phones.  I called both the Gold line and the normal line -- no difference.   I also tried the online process and my time changed from 30 min to 48 min to 1:15 min .... the worst part is that the timer would tick down and get to around zero and then change on me.  It's so frustrating.  I don't even try using EB anymore for the big releases, but they will STILL SELL THEIR SHOES.  So, do I really think they care about me?  Hmmm... doubt it.  If people on this forum only knew the debacle I've experienced with the Jordan White III Cements, you guys would defect -- at least some of you.  The way I see it is EB is like a crack dealer in the hood (harsh, I know), and we are their addicts.  You know they have the product ... you'd rather go someone else ... but as long as they got it, you will still try to get it from them--regardless of the pain and hassle and headache to get it.

One question .....
If eastbay keeps screwing you guys on midnight releases why do you keep trying to order from them on midnight releases ?

laugh.gif

Its one thing to try just to see if you get lucky .... but to try and then fail then get upset is just dumb when you already know their track record on the success rates on midnight orders
