This is my daughter. She's sick today though, super mucousy.
Question for you guys about humidifiers: how close do you place it to the kid's bed? Last winter when my son was sick the first night I put it pretty close so he would get the most effect from it, but in the morning I noticed his sheets were slightly damp. Figured that might be doing more harm than good, so I moved it away but wasn't sure it was actually doing what it's supposed to.i don't know if you have one, but a humidifier super helps with that dude....
Once i got one, it did wonders....
and she's a cutie! *thumbs up*

Thank you. We only have the cool mist. Pediatrician recommended against the warm one due to chance of the child touching the heating element and getting burned, though I have my doubts that manufacturers of current devices would even make them where kids could accidentally burn themselves. There is two kinds. A cool one And a warm one.
Cool summer
Warm for the winter
I just keep it on the desk next to my kid. 3-4 ft away? Doesn't need to be blowing in thier face.
Good info, thank you.i put it about 2-3 feet away from where the person who needs it would be.
Also, don't put it hear the wall, the walls get damp, and i think that's more of a chance of getting mold.
I had to improvise and put it in between her bed and the wall on a chair...
Oh, and the doctor told me that the vick's vapor pads don't even work all that well - you can just stick to regular water and it'll work just as good....
edit: damn, i didn't even know there were two different kinds!!!
Always heard good things about those from people actually brave enough to use one. We've just stuck to the saline and bulb syringe with decent results. So happy my son is old enough to blow his own damn nose now.used the nose frida when my son was smaller. he hated it but it worked really well. it came in handy when his congestion was making it hard to go to bed. i'd suck out the snot and he would go to bed. seems kinda weird when you use it but you don't get any mucus in your mouth and you'd be really surprised to see how much comes out.
Man, we're trying for our 2nd now.
I'm not as nervous as i used to be (in regards to being a good dad, or what i should do- stuff like that)
I'm more nervous about like: can i handle two kids? do we make enough $$? just a different set of worries...
Congrats!Tell me about it, fam. I got twins set to drop in Nov/Dec and I had to just make sure my budget was still good last night for how my family lives right now compared to when we add these two more mouths to feedMan, we're trying for our 2nd now.
