Official NT dad thread: can the dads get love

for those who had wives that were pregnant during mothers day. Did you get them something or kept it for after the kid was born?
Since my wife is pregnant with #2, her gift is that child and a weekend trip with her girlfriends.

Jk about kid #2 being a gift.

Last year my husband got the "youre expecting, Mother's day card"

They make cards for anything these days. lol

$1600 for 2 days??? Disney man :lol

I know it's different but my wife and I went on a 8 day Carnival Cruise to Aruba, Curacao, and Grand Turk...had a balcony room and it was around $1500 :lol

Also...my son is about to be 18 months on the 29th. How do I get him to stop pulling my glasses off my face when I'm wearing them and pulling my wife's hair? Any tips? I tell him NO in a firm voice, but he looks at me for like 4 seconds, starts laughing and does it again

My twins turned 18 months earlier this week and they just do random a-hole things like that. My daughter does that glasses grabbing thing off my face too but knows to give them to me if they’re ever just laying around.

My son loves to drop toys out the playpen or feeding chair and starts laughing like a d-bag. I figured it’s just a stage and I do the same thing saying no with a firm voice but they just think it’s funny.

I figure a few more months and I can “punish” them with wrestling moves on the couch/bed for payback:lol:

at 18 months, i don't think they know that they're really doing.

at that point they're just practicing their motor skills and as far as the laughing in your face, they're 18 months, whatever reaction they think is funny will make them laugh.

but if you do it enough times it'll become boring to them and 'on to the next'.

kinda like when you play peek-a-boo, after like the 7th time you do it, they hit you with the  and do something else....

anyone's kids ever have HFAM (hand foot and mouth)?

not sure if my 2 year old has it or not

last Saturday we were at a friends house for their two year olds birthday party and they were playing outside and there was some poison in areas (not by the sand box and playset but you know how kids are)

did not show up on her anywhere until Tuesday, blisters on her knee

the following day I dropped her off at daycare and my wife dropped off the other kids at daycare awhile later and one of the teachers who has a son in the same room as our two year old approached her and said our daughter has HFAM and that her son had it last week

my wife checked online how long it's contagious for and didn't fine a concrete answer

the same day my wifes friends daughter that just turned two was at the pediatrician and it was confirmed that she has HFAM and at this point hers has spread quite a bit

supposedly there was two spots on my daughters hands which I didn't even bother to look for Wednesday, but I looked yesterday and checked other areas last night when she took a shower/bath and I don't see the anything other than the area which we suspected was just poison blisters

I feel like 50% of the time when I walk into daycare there's a note about HFAM cases within the school

Not to be a jerk but why dont you just take your kid to the Dr. to find out? and perhaps you can get some antibiotics or best practices. Are the sores painful to her? maybe the doc can help with that also. Hope she gets better soon. :(

Would definitely take your daughter in to get checked for it, just in case. It's super contagious, and you don't want to be spreading it. If i remember correctly when my kids had it, these upcoming summer months are prime for HFAM. Hope she feels better

I think the only type of treatment you give anti inflammatory drugs, we have been giving her a pain relief drug which I believe is an anti inflammatory...otherwise, it's untreatable and goes away on its own

the only thing that may be a sore is what we had initially thought was poison, which actually may be just poison and it's not painful to her

I got her hydro cortisone and tecnu first aid gel for that

she hasn't been to school since that day and we've been trying to keep her away from the baby

man i just realized how tough it must be for you people with toddlers and a newborn, trying to keep the baby from getting sick.
my boy had HFM from his first day care. i don't even remember where the spots were but i think his fever got kinda high. think he had to stay home for a week. seemed like i had to take so many days off his first year and a half of day care.

she had a slight fever Sunday

after the fever, they get blisters within 2-3 days

having three kids at their ages is definitely rough...I get home from work eat dinner, or make and eat dinner for myself and them (they're not good about eating the same food as us), after that there's little time between cleaning up, getting them bathed if needed, and getting them ready for bed

my wife gets in bed early since she's always tired from nursing overnight...if I want solitude after I get home it's after everyone is in bed and then I end up shorting myself on sleep, sacrifice

trying to keep one that may be sick away from the baby compounds things

So my daughter suddenly wants to sit in the stroller. Smh.

Researching if my Uppababy Cruz can handle the dual seat configuration and it can't.:frown: Only the Vista model can and that's like $700 :smh:

What stroller do you guys have for a toddler and an infant?

I'm also looking to get a good but inexpensive stroller. Don't wanna drop 400
BTW anyone selling new born/infant stuff in here?

How old are your kids. I got one that’s 4 and a 2 year old.

We have the orbit g2. It’s discontinued. But we make my son ride on the skateboard attachment.
