OFFICIAL NYk '22 offseason thread, RJ extended

IQ been balling since the all-star break though. Think its too soon to just disqualify him due to being forced out of position during a sophomore slump.

Let him do his thing as the back up 2, let McBride have more responsibility as the the back up 1 and I'm sure Grimes will switch between the 2/3 at times as well next year.

Quick doing an okay job looking for folks today, ngl but not budging from this stance.

i have bitter feelings toward talking content heads who claim obi toppin was a bad pick
dude does so much and still gets so little respect
man got an easy 20 matching his previous game/career high so far

Quick about to get a triple dub tonight. I do think Randles selfish play is a bad influence on the team, a game like this the bad definitely seems like it's moving much more freely.

often thought he was holding back rj most of the season til rj took over and made the team his
rj sorta proved it when he began to succeed by not deferring to julius
randle has eclipsed other teammates who are only out there to help him as well

still dont want IQ at the 1, and i'd rather take Obi's hustle 20 points than watch Randle struggle to get his.

As someone who strongly disliked the Obi pick, of course he balled out the first time I've seen the Knicks play in years in person.

The Knicks fans were going crazy, especially that group behind the bench.

RJs game is smooth in person, Quickley gives me anxiety. Sims is gigantic. Robinson looks like he grew that tall overnight. And best of all? No Julius Randle

Also Clyde wore a pink suit. Stood up one time. Ate a sandwich at halftime. And did not leave the table the entire game

Did anyone see Randle?? Dude was going off the chain when Obi was balling and when the Knicks won.

It’s up to Leon to make next year, year 3 of the rebuild, look like one. Julius, Evan, Noel & probably even Burks need to be moved. Go all in on this youth movement with Rose & Taj for vet presence.
Don’t care who starts at the beginning of next szn but I fully expect if they keep this core that Deuce & Cam find their way to the starting lineup with Barrett.

Reddish has the physical tools that no other wing on the team does. The way these players have to be versatile these days, who knows if he lands as just a 3 or someone who can be plugged into the 4 spot as well. Jerami went from sf to full time pf. His defensive versatility is just as enticing as the offense. Cam is #1 option potential still. It’s all about the right situation and opportunity.

Deuce is Deuce. Don’t need him to be #1 option but he needs the ball in his hands. He makes others better. Lowryesque in that way with elite defense.

That backcourt & wing combo with Grimes is all I’d need for a good run. Bring in Joku if he wants to come over. I like that kid’s game too.

Attach IQ to any trades for draft jumps or additions by subtractions deals. NYK don’t need to go home run hunting unless it’s a Randle for ZW swap or top3 pick.
Re-sign Mitch.

Who do those people think was a better pick at the time at 8 than the player of the year?

Haliburton is the one that got away when they drafted Obi.

But he was always supposed to replace Randle.

My beef with Obi was simply his age and the fact that there's a very small chance drafting someone that old that high is a good value. I would have rather risk it for someone with a higher ceiling
