Yup. Consumers lose. Intel can afford stocks of their current-gen Sandy Bridge CPUs to decline first without a necessary price drop that comes with the Ivy Bridge line. Making them more money in the process.

I have a feeling this is somewhat related to NVIDIA's delay with the new Kepler-based GPUs.

Still think I can wait it out til then. It's been one week.

from that preview... it looks like an easy pass. meh.

Anyway, did that 8-stepSSD installation with the Users folder on the slave drive earlier. And switched theBios settings from IDE to AHCI. Apart from this nagging NVIDIAdriver bug which won't let me boot onto the desktop, things seems much faster now.

Doing another benchmark after I sort out this mess.

What driver version is it?
I've been using 280.26 for a while now and no problems. I'm scared to update if it's causing freezes though

295.79 I think. Just released February 21st. I tried rolling back to 285.62, but that didn't work either. Gonna go further back tomorrow from my System Restore point. It always seems to get messed up when Windows Update runs and requires a restart. Maybe my brother's GPU's acting up? But it wasn't the case yesterday, though.

Things like these kinda want to make you jump the fence back to ATI/AMD (that 7950 looks mighty tempting; cheap, too. Not to mention my board supports Crossfire only.

), but then again, they have much more driver issues there. Oh well.
