Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has a concussion, coach Andy Reid said after the Eagles' loss to the Falcons.
"He’s OK right now," Reid said. "Rick [Burkholder] and the doctors will take care of it from here."
Reid said Vick is at the Georgia Dome and with the team. He is expected to fly home with the team tonight.
Vick left the game after being tackled by an Atlanta defender and having his head whipped into Todd Herremans. Initially, the diagnosis was a neck injury.
Vick was seen spitting blood as he left the field, but Reid said there was "not a lot of blood."
Vick was not sacked in the game, but he was knocked around. He absorbed more hits than any other QB in the league in Week 1. He finished 19-for-28 for 242 yards with two TDs and an interception. His passer rating was 103.6
It appears Vick will miss next week's game, at least, as he goes through the concussion protocol.
Reid said Vince Young, who has missed the first two games with a hamstring injury, is not definite next week. He also would not commit to Young over Mike Kafka in any situation.
