The base wants blood, and I mean it literally. They won't follow anyone who doesn't offer it. There is no way the GOP holds onto the majority of their supporters, who are not who the GOP writes laws for, if they decide to change course now. The base will go with whoever gives them the war they've been preparing for.
The way I see it, this is the Republican party looking for Democrats to save them again. They can't acknowledge that Biden won to save face with their constituents, but they don't want the accountability that comes with ******* up their political strategy of propagating the big lie. The only ones who can make them accountable are Democrats, but will they, and to which extent?

Still hope the 45 crime family suffer consequences by various means but I'm fully expecting it to play out for former official like the Dubya-era war criminals that had their public images completely rehabbed and sanitized over the last 4 years
Feels like most peoples collective memories don't seem to stretch further back than the previous election cycle and historical context always gets lost when it comes to facing new realities/issues

yea I have zero clue how this plays out.. because obviously republicans need these people, but they’ve gone beyond just the point of them using them for their benefit.. those people are now in their with them and making hard demands on them to join in on the crazy
I mean even Liz Cheney of all people is now at risk.. hell even McConnell
I assume, they thought of em like religious folks where they give em enough and that was enough seemingly.. but now they’re learning and now they’re scared.. But again, they need em for power while they empowered them

These current or ex service members getting caught up in this whole thing need to be court martialed and stripped of whatever benefits and awards/medals they received to set a clear example for betraying their oaths.
It shouldn't be much to ask for when other countries crack down on this kind of behavior and oath breaking severely but I doubt we'll see it.
A country like Germany has dissolved entire divisions of the army and special forces companies in recent years after certain members were exposed to have far right and neo-nazi leanings/sympathies to set precedents.
Active/former service members and cops/firefighters etc should be the ones receiving the heaviest punishments when betraying public trust given how their positions are meant to protect and serve the public

Betraying their oaths?
The military already knew.
None of this is new, or strange, or out of the ordinary for the military, FBI, CIA, law enforcement, firefighters, or federal government.
These organizations are created by and filled with white supremacists.
Always have been.
The first military were traitors to England, and racists.
The first cops were slave catchers, and racists.
The first firefighters were grifters, and racists
The first government was rich white slave owners, and racists.
The majority of white people in the US voted for a racist government...twice.
This is what institutionalized racism looks like.
It's not them that are delusional.
Its us.
The United States taught Germany how to be Nazi's and taught the world how to be racists.
Racism has been the #1 export of the US for hundreds of years.
None of this is new or particularly shocking...at all.

It's not shocking at all but letting those elements grow in influence unabated without pushing back forcefully only leads down an even darker path than when they were operating out of the spotlight.
On one side the it's good to have it out in the open to expose to the many people who wanted to cover their eyes and simply pretend that stuff doesn't exist nowadays.
On the other side, the more they're able to plot and execute plans without serious consequences despite the increased visibity, the more emboldened these movements become and the more brazen they'll get in the future.
These groups didn't just come out of the blue and the feds have been well aware for years yet they've been allowed to explode in numbers and popularity and operate as usual in recent years compared to other groups that were deemed extremist, mainly minority led or left leaning of course, in the past that were quickly snuffed out and destroyed due to the full might of these agencies coming down on them.
They have all the tools, resources and strategies to take them down but they don't...
