***Official Political Discussion Thread***

i thought Romney and the Bush family were vocally opposed, and Kasich too.

the party system makes it very difficult to go against the majority within your party, so i understand the pressure that comes with trying to speak out. that said, with the latest events, Ryan gave everyone the opportunity to jump ship while saving face, so now there is no excuse for any Republicans caught still supporting trump.

that's for this past year. now, for the direction the party has taken these past 8 years, the blame falls on all of them for entertaining racists and such in the interest of short-term survival. i am not as familiar with whether individuals in the party spoke out against the tea party or not.

A decent number of Republicans still support Trump because the base they need to win in their districts love Trump which speaks volumes.

Can we have a discussion about "locker room banter" and what's disgusting and what's not ?

Just got into a argument with my child's mother because she swears she's never ever said anything sexual about a person to somebody else in her life and I find that extremely hard to believe. She states that anyone saying anything remotely sexual about a woman to someone else is wrong which in my mind is absolutely ridiculous. There is a difference between "damn shorty is fire I want her" and "grab her by the *****"

Thoughts ?

To me it was more of the "because im famous...." part

That's my point as well but she's on this damn high horse like human beings don't about sex with their peers. Pisses me off

Again I'm not talking about grabbing P's

I learned my lesson a while ago. Even if a girl says she's "one of the boys" and that she can handle it, she doesn't really want to know what guys say in private.

I agree with sckid20. The problem wasn't that he gave a graphic description or objectified women. The problem was that he talked about unwanted sexual advances like they were normal and that he could get away with it because he was rich. And that he said this on a bus, not in private with only close friends around.

And the bit about taking a married woman furniture shopping? That would get you ridiculed for years.

Was there any update on Trump's hearing yesterday? That, to me, is a far bigger story than the tape.

what is wrong you? you need to educate yourself.

la times poll has been discussed at length, many many times. anyone who knows anything about polls is aware of its flaws and bias. obviously you do not.

i think this was posted in here already 2 months ago but here it is again from Nate silver himself:

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/election-update-leave-the-la-times-poll-alone/

I’m tired of hearing about the poll from Donald Trump fans such as Reince Priebus, Matt Drudge and Donald Trump himself.1 They frequently cherry-pick that poll because it consistently shows much better results for Trump than the other surveys. As of Tuesday morning, for example, the poll showed the race as virtually tied — Hillary Clinton 44.2 percent, Trump 44.0 percent — even when the national poll average has Clinton up by about 6 percentage points instead.

geez

When did I admit that? I asked you to link me to all the email bombshells you were reporting in the thread.

Trust that I'm well aware of what's going on. I just don't have the patience to try to discuss things with you in this thread.

You sound delusional. And that's with a full understanding of where we are less than a month before everyone casts their ballots. You sound a lot like most Trump supporters I've heard over the last two weeks. The lengths you were willing to go to excuse Things before were hilarious, but now you just sound absurd.

doesn't matter, word to da RAND poll being more accurate than da RCP average in 2012 despite being a outlier for much of its run.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.real...y_pay_attention_to_the_la_times_poll.amp.html

chart shows three things. The top line, in blue, shows the results for the RAND poll from 52 days before the election through Election Day. The purple line shows the RCP poll average over the same time period, while the horizontal line shows the eventual result. As you can see, the RAND poll showed some pretty freakish results, popping out results as many as six points at variance to the RCP Average.

In the end, though, the RAND poll basically got it right. The national polls (though not so much the state polls) were off in 2012
