The entire situation is ****ty to be honest.

I see your point and I'm not trying to argue. However, coming from Venezuela to the US was/is far more dangerous than from the US Texas/Florida to MV via air.

Normally or should I say customary, illegal immigrants apprehended at the border or within US soil , where jailed for 1 - 5 years before being sent to a country where 9/10 the immigrant was not from.

This is the same **** that has been happening but instead of sending them back, they were sent to a state that has publicly announced they are a sanctuary of migrants.

Obviously sending them to MV was a play of "You want them, here have them". Not letting one know was/is the biggest issue.

Where the immigrants newly detainees or where they in detention camps?

Honestly, I don't know the entire story when it comes to how long or under what conditions.

What I can say is, humanely is all around ****** up. However, they are entering illegally and the two options are to jail and deport.

When it comes to your scenario, it is a bad ... if an animal walks into a shelter where its not wanted and someone takes it from the shelter and send it to a place that claims it is wanted, regardless of political agenda. Aint it best?

When I say that, I mean the vast majority of politicians. They want immigrants to come legallyor not at all regardless of what's being said over the news.

But to your point, lets not pretend these immigrants working these fields aren't being exploited and in a sense are modern day slaves. That's another topic.

I'm personally vested in immigration laws and I can tell you this, neither party has been even marginally better than the next. One is blunt and the other is like the wicked person than smile in your face while stabbing you in the back.
