He ran on this…. It won’t matter because a lot people aren’t a fan of him in general. His public persona is more a influencer than a leader. With her I think she made the fatal error of being too connected to NYC and Buddy/Buddy with Adam’s.

I never really grasped this until now but the rest of the state hates NYC and likes when the Governor sticks it to us. She’s done nothing wrong as Governor outside of some political favors and favorable contracts which is the norm for her role. Adam’s biggest public issue isn’t even his kickbacks it’s that he is seen networking and partying too much.

I honestly don’t know how either of them turn around people’s ideas about them unless they get a public crisis they can use to look like leaders. I am not saying either will lose their next elections either but the first impressions are over, next goes the honey moon period.

We live in a very odd time, where our institutions work overtime to rigorously show the completely obvious through the most obscure methods. It’s like any recognition that the right has gone of the rails and that it’s not, in fact, “both sides” must first run through. Rube Goldberg structure of legally or quantitatively sophisticated rationale before they can say things like, “MAGA is divisive” or “the Trump family used their government roles to build personal wealth”, or “Donald Trump was complicit in Jan 6th.”

It’s really bizarre.

To be fair I'd like the same thing - that people won't be fooled by lies in politics and will get out and vote for people who will do the right thing - but I don't think that we're aiming for the same result!
