Hillary Clinton Email Scandal: Kim Dotcom Says Deleted Mails Can Be Recovered

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s email controversy may be far from over, if internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom is to be believed. The man wanted by the U.S. on copyright infringement and money laundering charges said on Twitter Thursday that all of Clinton’s “permanently deleted” emails can, in fact, be accessed. Legally.

Clinton had deleted all emails from the private server she was using when she was serving as secretary of state. Copies of mails she considered work-related were saved and shared with a State Department investigation, which blocked the release of some of those mails till after the presidential election. An FBI investigation unearthed more of her emails, over 100 of which had classified information, but the agency decided not to bring any charges against her.

But about 32,000 emails were never handed over by Clinton to anyone, messages she said were personal and permanently deleted from her server. It is precisely those messages that Dotcom says can be retrieved.

The X-Keyscore, or XKS, that Dotcom is referring to is a computer system, once secret, that the NSA uses for searching and analyzing global internet traffic and data. According to Dotcom, access logs of XKS (a list of everything accessed using the XKS system) never disappears, and therefore, all of Clinton’s emails accessed by the NSA will still be on the server.

On his Twitter account, Dotcom also says he knows how the XKS system works because the New Zealand government had used it to spy on him. And to provide more credence to his claim, he even says a former NSA consultant, whistleblower and another man wanted by the U.S. government — Edward Snowden — would agree with him.

Dotcom’s claim rests on the assumption, however, that the NSA certainly accessed Clinton’s emails while she was using a private server when she was secretary of state. And with WikiLeaks already releasing, in batches, all of her emails, the point Dotcom is making is that there is a way to access them without hacking.

Being a student of history, I never thought that President Obama would have a positive effect on race relations in the United States. I knew that they may get worse, because of how his presence affected the power of white privilege. His simply being President of The United States slapped white privilege right in the mouth, which in turn made it almost impossible for him to succeed politically. He could not do enough for Black people other than to appear steadfast, cool and strong in the face of adversity, and he still had to help pull the nation out of the deepest recession in decades, all the while trying to maintain national security. I prayed to the ancestors for this brother, and I feel that he was the perfect person to open the doors for all that will follow. To answer your question of if I am satisfied with the status of race relations in this country, well, unfortunately with the candidacy of Donald Trump, he has proven that there are some white people in this country who do not even want a woman, let alone another Black man, to hold what is supposed to be the highest office in the land, or even for me to walk across the street in the rain with a hood on. President Obama is not responsible for what White people think and do, as that is their problem.

If not Obama then who? What I mean is - how could one then expect any president to have a drastic impact on race? Or at least a positive one?

I expected nothing from him on the issue but I also do not think he is one of our best presidents either.

Thank for your response but I was honestly hoping for one that did not include Trump as the question really wasn't about him. :lol

We need to take the long view on this. 10 or 20 years ago, many people would have never thought we'd have a black president, at least not in our lifetimes. And, once Obama became president, people thought he would disgrace the office, act ghetto, etc.

The very fact that a black man became president and carried himself more gracefully than any other president in our lifetime is something that will slowly but surely change race relations in our country in ways we can't even imagine. It is such a transformative event that we are not even close to seeing the full impact of it.

Now, did Obama do as much as he could during his term to push for better race relations? Maybe, maybe not. We all know how he smoked the cockroaches (aka Trump and da deplorables) out just by intimating anything about race or violence. He could have done more but, again, I think nothing he did during his term would be as profound as impactful as electing a black president and that president being as dignified as he has been.

Now for anyone to criticize Obama for this and then not to give 100% to defeat Trump in this election is a hypocrite and should stop pretending to care about race relations. Those people are the reason we're not further along than we should be.

kinda strange though how they stopped pursuit only to pick it back up to re-examine 'new' evidence when it may as well be too little too late

that is - the stigma alone is not enough - and like i said, would be surprised if they end up prosecuting

could just be the timing of it though, i guess

by whats being said... apparently wikileaks has da 33k missing Clinton emails.. and it may be time for Obama to throw Hillary off and save da current administration's legacy (and hide)

I dont know if its nothing. Definitely shows they care more about using events for their own interests than actual empathy for the deceased or the family.

Which isnt surprising. But just because its the norm doesny mean it should go overlooked.

Kinda like trump with Bills accusers at the presidential debate

No one cares about the emails saying she wanted to use Eric Garner to push gun control?
His own daughter is mad about the thing

your talking bout folks that exploit events for political gain....

Like bringing up the mothers of a solider killed in Benghazi, or parents those kids where killed by undocumented immigrants. Like those people

Everyone does this, not only just politician. Hell regular folk from all walks of life do this.

that had more of a revanchist theme, but definitely a political chess move.

oh now Comey is a eff boy? :lol :lol

I know he has an obligation to tell Congress about developments. But he should have been more specific about what they where.

I'm not criticizing the man for doing his job, but he must his vagueness sent the political and news world crazy. I would imagine he knew that might have happened

-The current news, which might change, is that these emails are from a separate investigation, not from Hillary, not from her private server, where not withheld, could be as little as 3, and need to be read to determine their classification.

Yeah I know she's a Bernie fan
Does that invalidate her opinion on the recent email related to her father?
