***Official Political Discussion Thread***

The sad thing is Trump likely gained votes with that rally. Puerto Ricans and Latinos will still vote for him - I don't know why, I guess they don't mind being disrespected.

You were talking about something that happened 2 days ago and now you’re moving the goalposts to the last few months. The Puerto Rican comments are not helping him.

What happened 2 days ago is a continuation of a political strategy that begun 2 months ago to stop talking about the economy and to focus on demonizing immigrants, transgendered people, migrants, etc. This political strategy of demonizing everyone except for white people has been working for Trump.

It was until he hit a group that wasn't down for that. When it's just the "illegals", other Hispanic folks can be all "Oh yea that's not me, he's talking about the bad ones." In this case, most Boricuas looked around and said "Oh wait he's talking about PR? **** hm." Not to be cliche, but most of my friends from PR are heated over it. That's a prideful bunch. I have one that still licks Trump's boots but we spent all day in a group chat yesterday telling him he's a moron for voting for people that hate him.

Oh, so Hispanic folks really thought they were different and didn't realize the Republicans just hadn't gotten to demonizing them yet. 😂🤦🏿‍♂️

Yea, that doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence in their cognitive ability come election day. (These are the same Hispanic folks that were ok with Trump calling for the death penalty for the Central Park 5, some of whom were Hispanic)

I don't like to lump all of any race together, I just think a lot of people say "Oh he's not talking about me" bc they think of themselves as special or an exception. Hell there were Jewish Nazis until they were no longer useful and they ware killed. They f'd up by saying PR as a whole, not some subset that people could spin to "not about me specifically!"

Agreed.
Most of the anti latino right wing rhetoric is aimed at Mexicans, so the Guatemalans and Colombians say it is not about them.
Then when it is aimed at Venezuelans, the Mexicans and Argentines say it is not about them.
When it is aimed at dark skin latinos , the light skinned ones say it not about them
When it is about the latinos crossing the border, the latinos born here or legally here say it is not about them.
etc etc...

When the truth is a lot of white people don't like Latinos, period.

Source: I'm a white guy from Alabama that lives in Florida. Please don't lump me in with the people I'm describing lol.

You realize we're a week out from the election right? She doesn't have half a day open to fly to Texas, sit with him for a few hours, then fly back to states that matter. If he wnats the interview, he can go to her and she'll fit him in. She's not going to clear her schedule to appease him and she shouldn't.

The fact you like Joe Rogan is lol though. Dude is as dull as they come
Oh.

If she just prompts bigfoot, aliens and grizzlies she'll be able to make it 4hrs easy.

I wonder if they get something done. Tough to pass up on the opportunity to possibly get one's message across to 100 million potential voters. It's good that she has this in her back pocket if her team deems it wise/necessary.

Anyone else think some of these polls have manipulated their methodology in the past month?

I bring this up not just because R’s have flooded the zone to help out agent orange but it seems fishy to me when you look at Baldwin and Casey in the WI and PA senate races respectively. They were both up by 7-9 pts and are now matching Harris’s levels in dead heats.

I find it hard to believe those two dropped that much in a few weeks with no bad news, no gaffes, etc… it doesn’t pass the sniff test to me.
