***Official Political Discussion Thread***

You have the best post COVID economy.
Better economic growth and lower unemployment than most of western Europe.
Better housing market than Canada.

I'm sorry man I'm not here for the woe is me talk.

Things could be worse you could get paid less and have a higher cost of living aka be Canada.

I'm gunna do my civic duty and vote in the Canadian election despite my country being in worse shape.

you can do it too. No excuses.
Umm fam that's good and all but who the hell are you to tell others how to feel about something? Again you are on the outside looking in and tbh most people are caught up in their own world and are just trying to make it another day. I voted but I also why others could not care less about politics. Chill with the holier than thou talk. You voted? Good for you.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Harris/Walz ticket. But ive lost even more faith in the American public and our engagement. If theres some thing that I've learned this election cycle is that as a whole, Americans are majorly lacking a true understanding of civics and the function of government and bare minimum critical discernment ability. Emphasis on the critical discernment portion. I didn't realize how much of an elite skill being able to suss information out for truth is. You don't have to be an expert in any given topic to be able to critically engage with it, but people really can't seem to apply that to politics. And bad actors 100% capitalize on it.

you can feel however you want about it. these are just the facts. America is in a solid place right now.

im not a politician so i don't have to cater to people's feelings.

good for you for doing your civic duty. those who don't deserve shame, not coddling.

He thinks 4 years is so supposed to reverse 400+ years of American history. This country will never be United. It’ll always be give-take, and compromise. It’s not humanely possible for all of us to be on one accord. We all just have to adjust and co-exist :lol:

…. And we’re still waiting on our reparations. I voted, voted for Kamala but like you said, for the thousands of us who are informed and educated, there are MILLIONS who don’t care

tbh i respect an uninformed voter whos like "oh well i liked the economy under trump so i guess ill vote for him" person

they are wrong, but not everyone has the time to pay attention to the details of politics.

i can understand that

i don't respect the "woe is me, america is such hopeless place what is the point of even voting" person. that is just silly.

America has never been a “solid” place. That’s the lie some of y’all continue to believe :lol :lol

Yeah I'm usually laid back in the politics department but nothing triggers me more than outsiders chastising us and telling us what we need to be doing. I'm sure that wasn't homie's intent to come off that way but it got me.

It's wild to me as not a non american when people say they don't vote

the rest of the globe watches as the future of Taiwan, Ukraine, future climate action, ect hangs in the balance.

meanwhile some mf in Wisconsin is like "bOtH pArTiEs aRe tHe sAmE" and stays home.

wut
Massive gaps in education, class and understanding of how our system works on local, state and federal levels.

not everyone has time to know lots about politics, that is reasonable, you can't expect everyone to be experts. people are busy.

just don't make up fake excuses to absolve yourself from voting.

Busy doing WHAT? No one is that busy:lol :lol :lol that’s exactly the problem. We are no busier than those who voted 50,60,70,80+ years ago. Those are excuses. People are just lazy.

I turned 18 in 2006. Voted that fall for local elections, and the presidential elections of 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020, and this year.

If you’re “to busy” to educate yourself, you should not be voting in the blind. That’s ludicrous

Gonna be a long night for the cult

Bro they thought they were going to get 21-25 year old incel bro males to vote. That was always a losing strategy. Young women will out vote them 2 to 1 over abortion alone. Also, they never offered them young men nothing.

Kirk been stealing that donor money for the longest. Easy Grift bag for him and his lot.

That would work if one party was pushing their rhetoric and racism harder and harder.

They keep motivating people simply because they keep grossing out the electorate. All buddy had to due was run on the economy and a little immigration, but no lets talk about how proud I am to move abortion to the states, immigrants are eating dogs, and oh other dog whistles. dude was the worst candidate
in a easy win.
