I’m learning about both candidates and both sides.
What I am picking up in here though, it’s a ooor example of how to sway one side to the other, that’s for damn sure.
Do better.

Cool, cool, cool.

And this didn’t teach you anything? You think there’s ANYTHING that Kamala has ever done that can possibly compare to THIS? And you need us to say things nicely? My patience and empathy ran out this day. People are voting for a literal traitor, and instead of being upset with them, you’re upset with US for not kissing their butts. There’s insanity in this thread, indeed.

My wife works for a union side law firm so during election season she does a lot of organizing of canvassing efforts. When you talk to a lot of people who are struggling and living paycheck to paycheck they simply feel as though their the vote doesn't matter. Their answer to your questions would be "What do any of those things have to do with me?". They feel as though no president has had a tangible impact on their lives so I take the time to vote?

For us who are informed on politics it's easy to forget that a large percentage of the population simply doesn't care and just goes about their day trying to make ends meet.

I think this is why a lot of my wife's canvassing was so effective. She was working with Unite Here and they flew in thousands of unionized service workers (bus drivers, maids / housekeepers, warehouse workers, etc) who can relate to these disenfranchised people.

I agree
People working 2-3 jobs dont see voting as a priority.
We can all get upset that people who are economically disadvantaged or lack education either don’t vote or sometimes vote against their interests. However, this is a reality not only in the U.S. but in other countries as well. Just look at the Philippines who voted for the son of their biggest dicator fraudster, and Argentina who voted for a real lunatic fraudster. These choices reflect what can happens when education is inadequate and government fails to ensure a basic level of education and economic security in a capitalist society. What pisses me off are the educated Billionaires like Musk, Ackman, and Chamath who know better and are still putting their interests over societies'.

Na, old white people are always going to vote. That's Trump's wheelhouse. Higher turnout means more non white men voted and that's good for Kamala. There's a chance that white men is the only demographic that Trump wins.

It's the exact opposite.
You haven't been paying attention to the polling.

Trump is polling well because of low propensity black and latino men.

Kamala is polling well because she's improved with older white people and college educated suburbanites.

Trump needs a lot of low propensity voters to win, if it's a higher turnout election, I think Trump is probably winning those marginal voters

You're wrong. Trump is doing better with say Black men but it's still 80-20 for Kamala. Biden was 87-12 so 80-20 is still improvement for Trump. He's cutting into the gap but it's still a landslide for Kamala in that demographic. Kamala is doing better with old white people but old white people will still be heavy Trump. Doing better with a group doesn't mean more of that group voting is good for you.

Learning about “both sides” when one side has literally been a president and showed you what he is about:lol :lol :rollin

Nah.

the marginal unlikely black and Latino male voter is more conservative, so it's likely Trump is winning that group. So Kamala might be winning typical black voters 87-20

but the more unlikely voter Trump is probably winning. Pulling it down to 80-20.

So in a lower turnout election those extra Trump voters don't show up and she wins by traditional dem margins.

If they do show up, it's a massive problem and a probable Trump victory.

Again, you're wrong. Old white people are going to vote. They've already voted. Lets start there. Their turnout will not change. That's the baseline.

From there any turnout helps Kamala. There's no magic line of "Well we need enough turnout to get black men and women to vote BUT not enough turnout to get that black guy that didn't vote last time but is going to vote for Trump this time."

More turnout helps Kamala. It's always been that way for Dems. "When We Vote, We Win" is their motto for a reason.
