I’m legit curious what they think will happen now in Gaza
He aint gonna do ****. Trump gonna mind his damn business and not even touch the war in Gaza

But I can’t even blame the Muslims that voted for him if that was their main issue. He’s the only one that provided any semblance of hope.

I agree big picture but it's very hard to convince certain folks that the alternative is gonna be that much worse when their current reality has loved ones getting killed every week for over a year with impunity...

Gotta at least make an effort at offering something tangible/different
Yeah not gonna ridicule people who lost alot

But I guess we'll all find out exactly how much worse it may get. Those protest votes succeeded in what they wanted so

Ppl went from voting the lesser of two evils to lets see how far the bottom goes even if it's affects ppl who look just like me

I'll never get it. Like I get it if this is Mitt Romney who would mask this bs to an extent or something..but Trump and him wiping his knees for Bibi? I'll never get it

Nobody is beating Trump until he drops dead. He's even going to win the popular vote for the first time in 20 years.

2020 was an anomaly because everyone was stuck at home and needed someone to blame :{

Yeah, Democrats are in a tough spot going forward. Trump is likely going to win the popular vote and for the first time in a generation there are more registered Republicans than Democrats.

Republican candidates are happy to label themselves as conservatives in their campaign but It would be political suicide for a Democrat to label themselves as "liberal" (outside of small number of ultra liberal enclaves). This *should* be a wake up call that the party needs to pivot more towards the center and stop appealing to fringe views.

He doesn't need to do much to make it even worse though, he'll just ride with whatever his friend Netanyahu wants to do (which is to escalate and keep on escalating because he's cooked politically, legally and personally the second that he's not a wartime leader anymore)

Delusional?? You thought people would vote Kamala out of hate for Trump, but many people actually voted for Trump because they didn’t want a woman president who was tossed in last minute like a substitute teacher offering only a nervous smile and a bunch of hand movements.

America is for Americans. Harris said nothing her whole campaign literally nothing
delusional as in an ex president who incited a riot on the capital. Impeached twice. And now President. You are delusional if you think any minority could try that.

But oh wait its not delusional to vote for your self interests that an ex convicted president will deliver to you. And meanwhile the people who didn’t vote for Trump deal with the struggles, or besides financial benefits they gain or financial problems they have. Theres non financial problems that may arise, just by voting for Trump.

The other part of the selfish delusion is “But as long as I got mine, im good.” hell with everything else.

My apologies, sir.

At least your cape is on tight though.
He’s not wrong though. Whether white men have been truly persecuted or not (they haven’t, they are just being made fun of and are being sensitive about it), they FEEL like they are being victimized

Trump is still a buffoon but his campaigns have been brilliant. He’s targeting the core feelings of these groups and catering to them

The next couple of days are going to be awful on social media. I'm just going to have a social media blackout (which will be a little bit easier because I'm not in the US right now).

I will literally only be on NT and no other social media platforms for the next couple of days. You guys are going to have to keep me updated on what's what's going on on IG and Twitter.

I'm not Muslim but I don't understand why a Muslim would vote for Trump, especially when Gaza seems to be the biggest issue. Trump is going to obliterate Gaza and there is no internal pushback on the Republican side for any type of ceasefire. I genuinely don't understand the thought process other than "we want to punish Democrats"

they were so took back by the lack of action to protect the civilians of gaza that they decided and were swayed by political machines to either vote green, note vote at all, or vote trump just to show the administration who was around for the last year how powerful their vote is
which sounds good on paper right, except when u realize the person you are letting in power literally will hurt u and ur loved ones in gaza smh

its funny cuz if they don't talk about it they can help the trans people more
politics brazy

But when do they talk about it?

The only prominent people on the whole I really hear speak on the issue are those with loved ones directly dealing with it, like Dwayne wade

Otherwise politically, it seems like a one sided yelling match just pointing out the issue

But I think that goes back to the current failures in journalism.. speak to actual issues/facts and not have people address whatever BS people say.. you can find out roughly around how many high school or whatever aged girls there are and rough estimate of how many are playing sports and how much of an issue it actually is

It feels like nihilism has been making a comeback recently so people succumbing to accelerationist impulses feels like an eventual endpoint.

Most people can't afford to risk things like that but I think that people in general are capable of it when pushed to desperation (i.e. ongoing ethnic cleansing on their taxes dime)

Is it too early for a postmortem? Could any Democrat have won this election under these conditions? Do you guys think Kamala was just a poor candidate? Could a white male candidate like Shapiro or Kelly have done better?

Looking back on things Democrats botched this entire election dating back to Biden stating his intention to run for reelection. Democrats quickly coalesced around Harris in order to avoid the chaos of an open primary 3-4 months before the election but given the disastrous results we are seeing now, would Democrats have performed better with a different candidate?
The data seems to suggest Biden dragged Harris down with him and she couldn’t distance herself from his unfavorables. She didn’t really fumble anything or draw any controversy, she closed strong, she just underperformed in turnout compared to Biden in 2020 by 1-3pts in key counties. Numbers didn’t meet 2020 turnout, and a 36pt shift in the Latino vote was pretty staggering. Read into that what you will but I’m not sure any answer that involves running a “safer” candidate really addresses the rationale for moving to Trump.

Ultimately it looks like Trump slurred his way to convincing a surprisingly diverse coalition across the country Biden was ruining the country and Kamala did too by proxy. Very disappointing night.

Could be a few post mortems.

-Not sure the woman candidate that can break the glass ceiling. Quite ****** up honestly for our country how many other countries have taken the leap and with pretty good success.

-Populism is the name of the game. And an angry populism at that.
I work as a case manager and often times my messaging to get through to clients has to be less sunshine and unaware optimism and hope but more of hope is in the distance. To get there, you need to take what you’re owed. Demand what you deserve. I always point out. “Look at the street you live on, walk 3 blocks away and tell me what you see. Now tell me how you think anybody will let you in their club.”

Democrats tame down winning messages for political decorum. When the other side is using populism against them and outflanking them as if they are for the little guy.

What made FDR so successful was a relentless pursuit to take the country from those in power.
Same way Reagan was successful. And same way Obama is a successful candidate.

Class warfare populism is the name of the game. Because Democrats don’t message well enough. Which is a caveat. I think they purposely hamper their messaging. Someone like Donald Trump can out flank them. We all know he’s not for the little guy. He never has and never will be.
But he makes those who don’t pay attention think he is because he’s fighting “the system.”
