"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

This **** is still so true and it's not just racial. Republicans spew hate toward certain groups to make the other groups feel better about themselves. Give someone to look down on and they'll run to the polls for you. That goes for cis vs trans, every race vs immigrants, etc. Just give people someone to look down on to make themselves feel better about themselves and they'll vote for you. This man went all in on racism on immigrants and Latinos flocked to him. White men are lost, but that Latino vote is shocking. They ate it up.

That, and sadly, men in this country are not going to vote for a woman president. That's clear now.

So what’s gonna happen in Ukraine now?
The situation on the ground wasn't looking great already recently with NK troops joining the mix on behalf of Russia so they'll likely have no choice but to sue for peace and hand Putin all sorts of concessions while losing a large part of their territorial integrity permanently (like Crimea) because they're not gonna be receiving anything close in US support that can fundamentally alter the balance of power on the ground.

Ukraine's future is cooked, Israel is gonna have carte blanche for their ME expansion project, trade wars with China and Mexico likely and NATO will be terminally weakened at a time that Russia will have just come out on top in a war in Europe

Absolutely crazy. The whole point in quickly getting behind Kamala and not having an open primary was to avoid a complete disaster like this. Instead we are still going to get an electoral college blowout and likely a Republican trifecta (presidency, house and Senate).

Of course we are looking at things with the benefit of hindsight but we could have just kept senile Joe Biden and had these exact same results without getting our hopes up.

This is dumb. Dems are where they have been for 20 years. Republicans have moved farther right, dragging the "middle" to the right. Unfortunately our country wants that.
Dems are where they have been for 20 years? You must live in a cave somewhere… You have gays, lesbians, trans, non-binary, feminist. The list keeps growing neither of these groups like each other either. they all think they’re better than each other. you kicked your president to the curb. You have no values. You don’t even know what you want.

What do you mean? They had 4 years when she has been sitting as VP watching her do a real bang up job. The Dems were cooked as soon as Biden decided to run again. They couldn’t pivot to anyone else. Kamala was not a good candidate and never would have been the candidate of Biden dipped out before.

The Democratic base is also not appealing to moderate voters. Has leaned too far left and needs to come back center more.

Calling groups of people fascist, racists, misogynistic, toxic masculinity, or whatever the **** else has been said the last several years isn’t bringing in moderate voters either. Time for the Democratic Party to reflect on these things and not repeat the same mistakes if they want to come back in 2028.

I agree with your second couple of points but I vehemently disagree with your first point. There is a reason why what Kamala was attempting to pull off would have been historic. Typically candidates have 18 months to run for president, build their platform and become visible. Even when you look at past VPs who ran for president like Gore and Bush 41 they both announced well over a year in advance and had to become their own candidate, separate from the president they were running with.

Literally seen this across the country :lol :{

Abortion got a majority in deep red Florida too :lol, people aren't turned off by progressive policies at all. They just despise them if it comes with any association to team blue :lol :{ (like people loving the ACA but hating 'Obamacare')

Electoral politics in the country has genuinely become football

And the way around it is you communicate the message about decency, honesty. And bucking the system.

Trump talking about no tax on tips and overtime. That’s a disastrous policy for the middle class. Because it’s going to decrease tax revenue, decrease services….. And worst of all will have a negative impact on Social Security individually and as a whole. But it’s wrapped in you keep more of your paycheck. Making it sound like it’s an F You to the man

Raising minimum wage. Easy fight. Easy messaging.
“Corporations say if you raise minimum wage it will increase cost. They have consistently chosen to raise their prices anyway, fire staff, replace them with computers and continue to raise prices despite eliminating cost of labor. They are robbing the American people blind. We demand dignity for our work. We demand a living wage. We work for the betterment of our lives and families not our CEOs pockets.”

Dems never come out that hard against things. They are like the kid who is afraid to do something so as they tell you what they believe, hat in hand, slumped shoulders, cowering, it isn’t believable.

I believe there’s a few more letters at the end of that acronym that continue to accumulate

You were the mark and they nailed it.

Pray these supreme court justices don't die on the job because he has the power to nominate the replacements
If things go the way they're heading, we're likely looking at something like a Conservative justice supermajority for the next 40-50 years...

Realistic chance he will have named 7 of the 9 justices by the end of the term

Social progress legislative gains are gonna have a lid on them or even rolled back for the next couple generations.

All of these reasons are why Dems should've been pushing for term limits years ago and 100% the next time they're in power. Lifetime appointments will and always be farcical in a 'democracy'

Unfortunately for Harris, a lot of people feel like their lives are worse now than what they were 4 years ago. Whoever is in charge at that time will be the ones to pay the price. I really think it simply comes down to that.
Americans don't pay attention to things outside of America. Prices went up here. The US handled inflation better than anyone but that doesn't matter bc, again, Americans don't know that. Inflation + a woman candidate created a landslide. Really no other way to put it imo.

I know a lot of Mexicans that act uppity about Venezuelans with the recent migrant issue. Ish is so bizarre
