If Trump and his administration really ruin everything (which, ya know, possible), what is the best reasonably affordable country to move to?

Strategic moderation just doesn't work with Democrats.

Harris got punished by a section of her base for getting too close to Liz Cheney.

Never mind that she threw away her career for preserving democracy. That was betrayal for a lot of folks, even though Harris' platform didn't change.

Democrat politicians rely on demographic groups that see any kind of compromise as political repellant. Move to the right? Lose the Left because you're "genocidal/a war hawk/a puppet of corporate masters/etc...". Move to the left? Lose moderates "who don't see color/gender/etc..." The bickering within the Democratic base is real, and even the prospect of winning control of government is not enough to force them to put their differences aside for an election.

The time to learn electoral consequences can't be wished away has come. I don't see another way to set the American electorate straight other than going through the misery Donald Trump will impose on the country.

It worked great for Obama.

Not to burst your bubble but you cant just move countries on a whim. At least any decent ones. As in you get on a plane and thats it. People tried moving to Canada and it doesnt work smoothly as one might think......you need a job offer first. If its in a field they need people in like doctors, that would be easy.

Moving countries isn’t easy unless you have money to invest. And when I mean money to invest I mean 500k liquid at least. If you’re white you may have an easier chance in Europe but if you’re not then they make it super hard.

It's really hard to move to another country and establish residency.

Also, assimilation can be very difficult as foreign countries are a lot more homogenous. Also, you better be able to speak the native language.

The only easy way to move countries is if you have a job offer for an in demand field like someone else mentioned. Then the company basically sponsors you and it's easy. For BC Canada, a job offer in an in demand field, ability to pass a very easy English test, and having enough cash for 6 months (~15k from what I remember) gets you enough points for a visa.

I actually had an offer for a Canadian job during the last Trump term but they offered around 50% of what I make and even after negotiations, only got it up to maybe 60%. This was in BC too so the housing would have been killer.

I have some Australian contacts through work and may explore something similar depending on how this administration actually plays out.

Speaking of Hasan Piker (the guy who tweeted this), he's singlehandedly destroying the earnings of many smaller Twitch streamers because his rabid anti-semitism and terrorist propaganda is causing advertisers to flee. I have a lot of connections with various Twitch streamers and AdSense revenue has dropped well over 50% the last week or so despite nearing the prime AdSense period of the year.

Hasan Piker is the de facto face of politics on Twitch. All the relatively large (but tiny in comparison) other politics streamers there are leeching onto him, struggle to reach 1k viewers and they all go offline as soon as Hasan starts his stream. All are of course moderators in his chat as well. Several of them are currently banned for offering bounties to assassinate critics of Hasan, proclaiming they hope every US soldier suffers PTSD and never gets healthcare, hosting a tier list that was basically a dogwhistle for arab = good & jew = bad, ...
One of the more pathetic leeches (MikeFromPA, also known as CentralCommittee on Twitch) got a 2 day ban earlier last week for offering a 100k bounty for a hit against another influencer criticizing Hasan.

If you want to get a gist of what the face of leftist politics looks like on Twitch, this video provides a good summary. I don't necessarily agree with every single point but it quickly becomes obvious why this being the face of leftist influencers is cancerous to not only the leftist movement but also to Twitch as a whole.
He flagrantly violates the ToS time after time but Twitch's CEO has publicly stated Hasan is his favorite streamer so it's not hard to see why gets to break every rule in the book regarding hate speech.

It's gotten to the point where his cancerous caping for terrorism and anti-semitic dogwhistling is actually damaging the income of any Twitch streamer receiving AdSense earnings.

If I weren’t living in the US, if I weren’t facing down a fascist regime that wants to take away life saving healthcare from my family, if I knew that liberals in Europe and the rest of the international would had our backs IF Trump starts to put us in camps, I’d be able to be more precious about journalistic standards.

But that ship has sailed.

Trump won, in part because his allies dominated alternative media space in the US.

Hasan is one of the few anti Trump voices who is and who has been pushing back. MAGAs and Zios are trying to shut him down because he can’t be controlled by either of them, unlike most conservative “iconoclasts” and “free thinkers” with a podcast.

The problem with leftist media like Hasan is they spend just as much, if not more, time bashing Democrats and liberals. They got all kinds of heat for liberals, but spend a fraction of their time on Republicans. At least that's how it looks when I pay attention to them.

A lot of online leftist view liberals as weak and spinless. Some of them seem to be contempt existing as self-righteous side line ragers, because nobody outside of Marx himself could ever pass their purity test.

And I wouldn't bother with another country unless you're rich. The whole world is messed up. I'd make my way to a blue state/area and be happy with that.

How exactly does promoting terrorism, fostering antisemitism, constant lying and misinformation help the Democratic party?


He is a complete moron and his ‘analysis’ can be summed up as ‘America bad.’
Houthi terrorists cheering “death to America. death to Israel. A curse upon the jews”? Great message to constantly show to an impressionable echochamber where zero dissent is allowed. America bad so Houthi good, that’s all it comes down to.

China annexing Tibet? Well those tens of thousands of deaths were actually good in his view because America bad
Russia annexing Crimea? Well that was great too because America bad
Russia invading Ukraine? Well that was obviously never going to happen because America bad and any such suggestion was 100% undisputable US propaganda


It’s hard to think of a worse person to represent the online leftist influencer space. He doesn’t allow even the slightest dissent and refuses to entertain any criticism. What he’ll do instead is ‘respond’ to a false distortion of the criticism and not let his chat see the source material.

Take a look at his chat occasionally. You’ll find it littered with comments you’d expect in Nick Fuentes’ chat, not the de facto face of leftist influencers.
