And the congestion pricing is just for Southern Manhattan.

The guy who runs the institution that emerged from and subsequently preserved Roman culture and society in Western Europe, for centuries to come (and arguably right up to this day) that guy definitely wants the West to fall.

Washington times is a **** news source so let’s start with that.

And like I keep saying, congestion pricing is good in general. However this should also come with a forced reduction in the amount of Ubers and Lyfts driving in Manhattan as well.

Bruh complaining boom boxes in 2025.

Dude would **** his pants if he every came across an actual boombox like this one

These are my sentiments, exactly.

It’s sad and funny how rightwing “anti-establishment” personalities always talk vaguely about one variation of “elites are trying to enslave us,” and yet they refuse to elaborate because; to the extent the claim is actually true (and it is, BTW), it is being carried out by right wing tech oligarchs. And it’s being done largely in the open.

Currently, most spreadsheet violence still has to be carried out by up close and personal human on human violence or the threat of it. Incarceration, evictions, serving warrants, etc. still require a “skill set” usually only posed by a minority (sometimes the majority of a population becomes capable of inflicting face-to-face violence but those are exceptional times e.g periods of genocide and ethnic cleansing, usually tied to war, famine, or other catastrophic events).

But you automate that process and you automate it enough, you get to a point where you can “delete” someone with a drone, a drone directed by a mass surveillance apparatus.

At a certain level of technologically projected private armies, the well being of most people will be in serious jeopardy

Speaking of more “innovation” from global capitalism’s best and brightest.

Granted, the article is full of a lot of “mights” and “coulds.” So the return of something similar to company script is not a done deal.

The Milei government would certainly like to do this (he’d probably prefer 16 hours no OT and 100% of the pay be in straight up company script, but he sees this as the moderate position); however, he wants to float the idea and see how robust the opposition is.

Protests do matter in these situations, the bigger and more determined, the better.

Their food stamp bootlicking voters will support it too.

Great graph, thanks for sharing

I would have lost a lot of money betting that Chicago was a distant 2nd in public transportation over SF, followed by Boston/DC/Seattle ect...

As someone who loves and often uses public transportation, there is a social contract you are making that you may encounter:

-homeless
-mentally unstable
-and in very rare instances potentially dangerous people

My advice, mind your business. The guy with the loud music may be all 3 of the above with nothing to lose. Your episode of "the daily" will be there when you get home

This clown really thinks he can just say things and they will manifest. TIPS ARE INCOME, AND ARE TAXED BY THE IRS. The service industry people who voted for him based on that ONE thing he said, and that he cannot deliver on, are dummies. You can't just decide to suspend income tax because you feel like it. My god, his voting base are the dumbest people alive. I know so many industry workers who voted for Trump based solely on the "no taxes on tips" thing. Newsflash: you're getting taxed on tips for the rest of your life.

And this incoming assclown still doesn't know who actually pays the tariffs! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ He really things the producing country pays it! What a freaking dope! And no one in his incoming administration has the balls to stand him up and actually explain how tariffs work to him. The next 4 years are going to be a **** show! Get your popcorn.

while i wouldn't say this is totally Trudeau's fault,

decreasing oil prices probably the biggest factor. but ultimately he didn't do enough to combat it.

Liberals and progressives should take this as a warning.
Redistributive social programs are nice but at the end of the day if there is no economic growth, and housing crisis spirals out of control, people will be mad.
