Exactly people often sign up for the military to fight "terrorism" and kill brown folk. Uncle Sam and OG Day Day both use propaganda to recruit soldiers. Many gangs use military tactics to recruit.

So how should that result in demonizing our millitary members for something that our politicians had a hand in?
Hell, a lot of them are currently stationed in Asian and European countries also so that Americans can safely travel around those regions. I don't see any gang members doing that.
