Damn I just read a pretty depressing Washington Post article about how after this whole month Trump fans think he has been good. They think that every thing the media reports is just a hiccup that the media magnifies. They think that a part of why Trump hasn't kept his promises is cuz the Democrats are cockblocking him. And they genuinely don't understand why he gets so much hate.

Lol damn, homies.

As a random so eloquently said:

Trump could **** in your mouth and you would be like yayyyyyy at least a liberal has to smell it!

No sense in trying to reason with them.

Took the last few days off from politics kuz I definitely needed a break. This regime, er, administration has been bigly exhausting.

Cliffs on the last 72 hrs?

"Godwin's Law" though.

If he changed his name to Adolf Hitler II, I bet they would still use "Godwin's Law" as a reflex defense mechanism.

Thing is there are so many and I don't want them to multiply.

That's why I want us to keep an open dialogue with the Republicans.

I don't want us to radicalize moderate conservatives, which according to the Times seems to be happening because of the left right beef.

Could you post that in the thread homie? It's crazy man that people feel this way. These people are just idiots IDC. They are highly misinformed or willingly foolish.

The way I see it, the Milos of the US, the ones who want to believe in 19th century genetic pseudoscience, those who think we need an authoritarian/theocratic system (more prisons! Less police oversight! Repression of opposing points of view!), those who think we have to abolish (not reduce or control) the social safety net and the standards that keep us safe from the dangers of Nature and corporations, and those who revel in "liberal tears" at the cost of their own well-being are all that's left in the GOP. If those "moderate" conservatives are more attracted to this version of the party, with these leaders (Trump, McConnell, Ryan, Sessions), and after considering all the things they have lied about, obstructed, and covered, they were never going to compromise in the first place. They are OK with living in a world of falsehoods and corruption and they should be called out.

Lies and ignorance shouldn't be tolerated for the sake of accomodating the liars and the morons. Do you really want to live among the flat earthers and witch doctors? They're going mainstream (thanks Kyrie!) precisely because nobody has the mere honesty to tell them to cut the BS, and a society full of them simply doesn't work.

Also, the author has previously said that the law does not apply in appropriate circumstances.

I felt like that last part, the times piece especially, to be pure BS :lol

We NEVER once heard concerns about the tea party folks "alienating" liberals during Obama's presidency but now that liberals are mobilizing and are trying trying harness trying the same kinda anger and resolve, they're "alienating" conservatives? :rollin

Trump's supporters will always find a way to justify their support,I highly doubt Liberals would've changed that :lol.

Apparently the script has been flipped and it's conservatives who seem to be the delicate little snowflakes that are easily offended and want Liberals to be PC regarding them and their saviour :lol.

Like all the 8 years of gridlock wasn't enough to alienate half the country yet a few eeeks of protests are enough to alienate the "moderates"...yeah I don't but that one bit :lol

Not to mention, the dude the article quoted who said "Libs are helping Trump" is the same guy who said he enjoyed Trump's antagonism a few months earlier in the Times :lol :rolleyes

@Breznican: The "Are Liberals Helping Trump" article quotes a guy who's been in the NYTimes before - boasting he LIKED Trump's antagonism. Same writer. https://t.co/KEomCHdnu1

This is the same phenomenon Maher touched upon in his latest new rules segment, the GOP are judged by a much lower standard than dem's in the country.

"America is the Republicans ***** and they can betray and mistreat her as much as they want but you can't"

^ to this day I can't believe Giuliani said that. Obama should've punched him square in the mouth next time they crossed paths.

Glad Maher destroyed him :lol :smokin, dude has been a circus jester for the right for years ever since he failed running for president. One thing I'll appreciate about Trump is how he used up so many of these sycophants to prop up and legitimize himself during the campaign only to leave them empty handed after taking office :lol. He made them embarrass themselves and look like fools on TV for nothing basically

Him,Christie,Palin and Newt were some of his first co-signers and they all got kicked to the curb with a quickness :rollin

We gotta stop flattering trump by comparing him to Hitler. He was dispicable but was at least competent and intimidating. Trump is a buffoon

I hate to compliment Hitler in any way, but you are right about trump being a buffoon.

At the same time, people early on described Hitler as a clown. Yet his followers believed in him 100%, just like trump's followers believe in him.

So I agree that trump is an incompetent clown and, in a weird and dark kind of way he can't hold a candle to the truly effective despots of the past, but we should not underestimate the potential for demagogues to draw power, especially considering that demagoguery is often irrational and destructive to begin with.

trump is not fighting with the history books or with academics right now. he is fighting for the basest impulses of society to side with him.

he won't give it up. he's tweeting again about sweden, trying to defend his blatant lies:

Trump probably was referring to an interview with filmmaker Ami Horowitz on Fox News Channel's “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” which started circulating on social media shortly after Trump's speech in Florida. Horowitz has blamed refugees for what he says is a crime wave in Sweden. The filmmaker's claims have since come under scrutiny, as Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported Monday. Two Swedish police officers who were interviewed by Horowitz said that their comments had been taken out of context. One of them, Anders Göranzon, accused the filmmaker of being a “madman.”
...

Overall, Sweden's average crime rate has fallen in recent years, Dörner said. That drop has been observed for cases of lethal violence and for sexual assaults, two of the most serious categories of crime.

Maher hit it on the nose, these fools get a pass for everything and are the ultimate hypocrites but they run wild unchecked because their base is full of morons and no one calls them out on their BS >:
