***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Trucks are just like boats, they're not useful and pretty much a waste of money for the average American.

You want to be the guy that knows somebody who owns a truck or boat, not the person who owns one.
id rather be the guy with the truck or boat than be the guy asking to borrow someones truck or go out on the boat all the time though.

I'd rather just rent the truck from Home Depot for $20.

Indiana Restaurant Owner To Be Deported Friday

During an interview earlier this month, Helen (his wife) said she voted for President Donald Trump because she supports his immigration policies. She said criminals should be deported, but she didn’t think her husband would face that fate.

SHE VOTED TO DEPORT HER OWN HUSBAND.

:lol

I would hit it with a "to point and laugh or not to point and laugh" but this is too rich. :rollin

The average American is definitely better off just renting a truck/boat whenever they use it rather than owning it since they won't actually use it that often

Republican lawmakers moved to dismantle landmark internet privacy protections for individuals on Thursday, the first decisive strike against telecommunications and technology regulations created during the Obama administration and a harbinger for more deregulation to come.

In a 50-to-48 vote largely along party lines, the Senate Republican majority on Thursday voted to overturn the privacy rules, which had been created in October by the Federal Communications Commission.

The move means a company like Verizon or Comcast can continue tracking and sharing people’s browsing and app activity without asking their permission. An individual’s data collected by these companies also does not need to be secured with “reasonable measures” against hackers. The privacy rules, which had sought to address these issues, were scheduled to go into effect at the end of this year.

"So the reality is clear: America is stronger because of the Affordable Care Act. There will always be work to do to reduce costs, stabilize markets, improve quality, and help the millions of Americans who remain uninsured in states that have so far refused to expand Medicaid.

"I've always said we should build on this law, just as Americans of both parties worked to improve Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid over the years. So if Republicans are serious about lowering costs while expanding coverage to those who need it, and if they're prepared to work with Democrats and objective evaluators in finding solutions that accomplish those goals — that's something we all should welcome. But we should start from the baseline that any changes will make our health care system better, not worse for hardworking Americans. That should always be our priority.

"The Affordable Care Act is law only because millions of Americans mobilized, and organized, and decided that this fight was about more than health care — it was about the character of our country. It was about whether the wealthiest nation on Earth would make sure that neither illness nor twist of fate would rob us of everything we've worked so hard to build. It was about whether we look out for one another, as neighbors, and fellow citizens, who care about each other's success. This fight is still about all that today. And Americans who love their country still have the power to change it."

There won't be a compromise between moderate republicans and the freedom caucus. Their goals, when it comes to healthcare, oppose each other.
