Haley is far to the right. She only gets some love because the standards for a Republican in 2017 are so low, she gets a pass.

Consider this more and more likely scenario:

There's a good chance that Pence will go down with trump. That leaves Paul Ryan as the next in line to be president.

Now let's say this all unfolds over the next year and Ryan steps in as POTUS in 2018. With all the blowback over the treason, Democrats regain control of the House and then spend the next two years blocking Ryan on everything he tries.
