The ban was uncalled for and Jim was only doing his job. In journalism school, we’re taught with a saying “Dog bites Man”... “Man bites Dog”

I welcome everyone to Google it and why it relates to Jim Acosta’s banishment.

The banishment was not the only story here, but rather how Trump treated Acosta and other reporters during that press conference after the midterms. What was supposed to be a “victory lap presser” turned into a bigger problem for Trump since yesterday marked his run for reelection

You don’t put out fire by just dousing water, you cut off its oxygen. If Trump simply answered all the questions he was asked, then he won’t be in a deeper hole he’s already in. Jim will live another day at a different beat/assignment and so as the other reporters who will keep doing their job. Trump will be Trump, and he’ll be pressed on about by the media about this until he leaves office.

I laughed when Trump said, “I used to call the Media the Press before but not anymore”

The Media IS the Press .

His supporters, however, found another reason to criticize the media because of this :smh: (except Fox News, dem righties love this ish)

With all the different People of Color (POC) assuming office, there's been a weird conversation that has started getting louder which is whether Asians (especially Eastern Asians) should be considered POC.

They are by definition. But the focus surrounding this phrase is typically attached to a social-justice movement.

Trump has certainly redefined what it means to be "presidential."

His actions were clearly inappropriate. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to an event where a mic is passed around for questions, but you don’t use your hands to physically block the person who retrieves the mic from getting it. Even if they reached first. Even if you say pardon me.

Trump went back and forth with several reporters at the press conference, but Acosta is the only one that ended up with the suspension. It is justified. Acosta had already made his point. It was inappropriate behavior.

If he got a crappy answer from trump im sure he would have handed the mic over.

But that hand grab is considered “inappropriate behavior”? Nope.

Trump. What made you vote for him? It’s a honest question.

What made you vote for trump? What makes you think I did?

It isn't an honest question. You are attempting to get me to tell you who I voted for. And, as far as I know, there is a right to privacy at the ballot box. For good reason. Better known as the secret ballot.

At least you saw Acosta make physical contact. Everyone else in this thread was acting like they didn't see it. I legit thought it was just me.

I voted for Hilary. I have no problem admitting it. I also voted for Stacy Abrams this most recent election.

Why should anyone be ashamed of their vote?

No one should be ashamed of their vote, or non-vote for that matter. That being said, no one has to tell you their vote.

I am proud of you for voting for the candidates that you thought/think were/are best for the job.

It’s ok you voted for Trump. I like to see people for who they are, not who they want the masses to think they are.

Yea I saw it but that’s a natural human reaction  or no that’s “inappropriate behavior”? Wouldn’t any person push someone else’s hands away if they were invading their personal space?

Bruh, no way. DeSantis isn't likeable in any shade and ran under the aegis of Trump. And opposed to Gillum? That's nearly 20%, you can buy 1/5 black women voting for DeSantis?
Hell up here in GA 12 % of black men voted for Brian Kemp. That doesn’t make sense to me. That’s the numbers man. I don’t know what to think

Generally, perhaps. But not when you have a mic and the person invading your space is the one retrieving a mic. I have been to several events where a mic was passed to the person speaking. No one reacts that way when the person comes to retrieve the mic. In fact, no other reporter at this press conference did that. That is why it was inappropriate and why he got suspended.

Many people vote their interests, and particular issues--race aside. It doesn't make sense to think of black people as a monolith (to me).
