***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Dubya gonna come I here furious that we're not on Cuomo's side. :lol

It pleases me that the anti israel folk have no real power and then cry about it.

BDS is just another strategy to destroy the country of israel. You are deluding yourself if you think otherwise. War and politics didn't work. Why live in peace and accept an agreement when the international community will just lean on and demonize israel?

It's the non violent way of using hamas tactics. They damage and cause the Palestinians to lose good jobs (sodastream) so they can continue to portray the image of a suffering people. No group has ever used the media and useful idiots in the west like the palestians has. No people have ever caused so many self inflicted wounds for the cause of propoganda and international good will.

Omar Barghouti, a graduate student at Tel Aviv University and BDS founder, admits, “If the occupation ends…would that end support for BDS? No it wouldn’t — no.”

Egypt has a blockade, where are all the leftists crying their crocodile tears? Middle east on fire? Syria has the biggest refugee crisis since WW2? Who cares when we can bag on israel?

I lost alot if sympathy after arafat and the 2nd intifada and when israel pulled out of gaza and it turned into a rocket launching pad. They have had more than enough chances at peace. Frankly the kurds deserve a country more than they do at this current time.

You realize ranted for 5 paragraphs plus, and never once mentioned Cuomo, and his actions. Which was the topic at hand

Semi biting?
It's the most shameless and heinous jack move that I have ever witnessed in American politics. If I were FedEx, I'd sue.

He has to answer to his constituents. Many who will be in favor of what he did. All politics are local. It's also not the worst thing for the democratic party to throw pro israel voters a bone after certain decisions and the **** show sanders may unleash over the platform

But you guys what if Bernie doesn't drop out still? What if Hillary gets arrested? What if da delegates all switch up and and nominate Chaffe? What if.....

for real :lol

ain't nothing official yet!! Talk your **** after the polls close and votes are counted

It was OVER when Bernie Sanders decided to run.....everything between now and then was just a formality. Must be a difficult night for you champ as you didn't think this day would come. I sure as hell did......I was just waiting on YOU and the rest of the Bernie brigade to catch up...."Oh Happy Day......Oh Happy Day!!"

problem is da superdelegates decided this race...all them Bernie supporters staying home November.

The fact the media is screaming that it is....right before Cali....speaks volumes.
The media has done everything in their power to secure the nomination for Clinton. This latest lie and misinformation they are feeding to the public will backfire though. Bernie supporters are all going to show up and vote today and hopefully Hillary supporters stay home believing the lie the media is running with that she is the "presumptive" candidate. If Bernie isn't the nominee when the Super Delegates cast vote come July 25–28 in Philadelphia, Donald Trump will be the next president.

Hillary's logo is pretty catchy, wonder if that had anything to do with her winning

I voted for Bernie and I'll be voting for whoever the Democratic nominee is in November. So there goes that theory...

So all the Hillary Clinton supporters that witness her win more pledged delegates, and 3 million more in raw vote, are all gonna be cool with the Democratic Party denying Clinton the nomination.

Because with all this ranting and raving some Sander's supporters do, the fact that more Democrats --not the establishment, not the media, not Wall Street, but regular people-- want her to be the nominee.

Denying Hillary the nomination at this point would be the most undemocratic thing that could happen at the convention. Way above lack of media coverage, long lines, and state convention craziness.

No. What he said is just as irrelevant as whenever you try to use anecdotal evidence to dismiss or support a much larger topic.

Your anecdotal evidence account is way overdrawn, Red's isn't. So we froze your account

NT bout to take you to collections because you owe us so many logical arguments and common sense

You're gotta pay what you owe, b

A Super Delegates main purpose is to endorse the candidate who stands the best chance at beating the other parties nominee. The fact that all of the Democratic Super Delegates pledged their support for Hillary before the primary started was the biggest mishap. Nobody in the party expected Sanders to gain ground the way he did or beat Clinton in so many states. All national polls show Trump beating Hillary come November. Those same polls show Sanders demolishing Trump. If you want Trump as your next President, keep that Hillary nonsense talk going.

Fake. Phony. Hypocrite.

I agree with everything and my only bit of push back is with the idea that elections represent the will of the people. They represent, disproportionately, the will of affluent retirees. That is true in general elections when low turnout yields Republican gains and that dynamic played out in this Democratic nominating process with the relatively more conservative candidate winning more votes. However, I cannot blame that on Clinton or the DNC because every election in the US is set up that way.

It's a poor choice of attire given the content of her speech and yes it is a bit hypocritical but I think it's being blown out of proportion. I wouldn't see it as a big deal if Trump did the same. Trump and Clinton are both filthy rich, I take no issue with them doing things that rich people do. If I was that rich I'd probably have $10000 jackets in my closet too, doesn't change my views on equality.

First, speaking as a WASP, there is nothing wrong with spending money on the finer things in life as long as they are not grotesquely ostentatious.

Second, speaking as a liberal, where is it written that to be a liberal one has to take a vow of poverty. Hillary Clinton is a left of center politician, not a Franciscan friar.

This is going to sound real dumb, but I hope this thread can be forgiving. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to politics and I want to at least be knowledgeable in the process before diving into candidates and parties.

Can someone school me on this "delegate" and "superdelegate" process? States voting for who they want to represent the Democrats and Republicans?

Then what?

What does voting at these polls actually do for the election?
