Telling laid off journalists to learn to code is great. I have no sympathy for that profession, they have been stenographers to power and they were fine with mergers, globalization and financialization displacing millions of other lower status/lower prestige workers.

With Buzzfeed running a story that was unflattering to their dear leader, Donald Trump, and then Buzzfeed's news division shuttingdown, the MAGA ****heads have been dropping "Learn to Code" like crazy the last day or two. However, they did not invent it. You don't have to be a Trump fan/alt right to enjoy seeing cheerleaders of neoliberal capitalism being hoisted on their own "let the market decide" petard.

I knew Jill Stein would come around.

Here's some rare footage of her performing at the Annual Coal Gang Cruise

Thanks for sharing this. I was so strung out on coal dust that night, I don't remember a thing.

I did wake up next to Jill Scammerstein the next morning, and now I can see why. She's got the rhythm!

That night was magical.

If the party feels strong about its platform, then an outsider like Schultz shouldn't be a problem. The reality is that he is highlighting the real issue of the Democratic party being pulled too far to the left. If that was not happening, then him running would be a non-issue.

Actually recent data shows deplorables make up a large part of the US anti vaccine group. The Michigan state legislature is even tying anti vaccine to an anti abortion bill, SB 1055...

There’s even a quote out there from the deplorable in chief where he thinks autism is linked to vaccines.

The best part of that night was when Kenny Selcer stopped the guitar and let us in the Coal Gang National Anthem. Some of you may have heard it but it goes like this.

"LOCK HER UP, LOCK HEER UUP, LOCK HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERR UUUUUUUUUUUUUUP"

for sure. Trump and the right have firmly taken the mantle of anti-vax and anti-science movements.

some of the former liberal anti-vaxxers may not go far enough to the right to vote for Trump, so instead they'll vote for a Jill Stein.

edit: some data:

In 2015, the Pew Research Center conducted a survey of 2 thousand adults which concluded about 12 percent of liberals and 10 percent of conservatives believed that childhood vaccines are unsafe.

the difference is that these are the fringe on the left but have become the face of the right.
