If these dudes aren't able to confirm Barrett because their own poor judgement in handling the virus comes back to bite them would be the best poetic justice.

Edit: apparently, Mitch blocked senators from having the ability to vote remotely a few months back, didn't he? That means that until the sick come back (depending on how their symptoms develop), they won't have the votes to confirm Barrett. Can anyone confirm?

My dad had to be flown out once and the helicopter fee was almost $50,000

I suffered a bowel obstruction while in Toronto back in 2011. I'm a transplant patient (liver) and I had already had one obstruction before (a month after my transplant) so I knew what this most likely was. My doctors at Penn wanted me to come in ASAP. I told them I was in Canada and they were like, ummm. Let's figure it out.

Got a medical ambulance flight out of Toronto Pearson International. Insurance I had at the time (thankfully) paid it all. Was about $16,000 and that's what the insurance company settled for. Don't know the actual amount had I not had coverage. Probably would have been an insane amount of money. It was a Cessna Citation V private jet turned into an ambulance. Was an interesting experience. But took about 2 days to get approved. Insurance balked at first. Once the transplant doctor called for me, to tell them we need to do surgery, they approved it. It was a cluster though with insurance.
