He is right, damned correct. I wish he was wrong, but I have never met a republican, white Black or other, who wasn't chauvinist. I've worked on Wall Street for Paine Webber, I've worked for an NFL franchise, and one thing is for certain! Each and every Black man I've met, be he a broker/trader, or offensive lineman that happened to be republican, were all about a woman knowing her place. ALL of them.

Black men are voting for Trump because of chauvinism: Former NAACP president

The fact that one of the most important issues for republicans involves governing female bodily autonomy tells you everything you need to know about how they view women

im with you. can only hope
Yeah, I hear the dudes talking about Kamala, and yeah, she has a lot of making up to do, but damn! They are going IN. Trump goes at her, and I hear these dudes saying...he ain't lying. I no longer have the advantage of hearing brothers in the south talking about their concerns in person, but I listened to Farrakhan say some stuff the other day....I simply shook my head. I dig the minister's talk on whitey, and why we should not trust him, but when it comes to women?! I can't roll with him on any of that, and that is what the republicans latch on to.

dwalk31 dwalk31 what are thoughts on this? not as a gotcha question, but as someone who has in the past said that conservative judges were something you wanted out of a Trump/republican presidency. In your opinion, do the pros of conservative judges out weight the cons?

Without seeing the facts of the cases that they base their analysis on, it is very difficult to weigh in on their conclusion.

I think the issue you’re describing should be aimed at the relevant legislature and not the judiciary. Judges just apply the law to the facts

So the entire conservative vs. liberal judge thing really over-politicizes the court.

To directly answer, no. I don’t think there are particular uniform pros/cons of “liberal” or “conservative” judges.

yeah man i dont know what to say/do about it. part of it is lack of civic education. a lot of these men are strong and wrong. they dont fundamentally understand the systems theyre criticizing. another is the fact that our political system hasnt been able to meet American black men where they are like it does for pretty much every other demographic. so theyre justifiably lashing out. and especially since the rise of social media youve had opportunists and grifters, radicals, religious figures, and hoteps try to fill that void created by american politics. the misogyny seems to be ripe in those groups

fair enough. i encourage you to engage with the findings
although with record court appointments and seeing how the trump admin has moved in the past 4 years Its not a large logical leap to think trump might be intentional in politicizing the courts

How do you defend ONE political party actively trying to suppress and throw out the votes of millions of people?

I know what & how they're doing it, but can someone explain the argument for trying to invalidate so many ballots?

Man I'll try to go early in the morning tmrw. Just hope I don't have to wait in line.
