McConnell owns Dems all the time but he also owned Trump.
Everything Trump talked about in 2015-2016, every policy that, for good or for ill, made him different from a more ordinary Republican, none of it became law. No wall, no infrastructure bill, no raising taxes on the “finance guys,” no coal resurgence, no victory in trade wars, no diminution in opioid and suicide deaths, no return of quality blue collar jobs, no end to the forever wars, no “fantastic” replacement for Obamacare. What did Trump accomplish? Tax cuts for the rich and rightwing judges. All he got done was whatever McConnell and the GOP donors either wanted or he what they didn’t really care about such as concentration camps at the border, the end of federal consent decrees and the Muslim travel ban.
After McConnell made the rich richer and installed confederate courts through out the Federal Judiciary, he didn’t need Trump any more so he stopped him from getting to send out any further COVID checks. Trump was on his own, much like poor and low income people in Trump’s, nay McConnell’s America.
