Real talk, I wish we could come up with a way to build a metro area in Wyoming and get liberals to move there.

Even a small to medium size one might flip the state blue. And would probably do more to dilute the GOP's power in the Senate than adding DC as a state

I was just in Wyoming all day. It’s dope out here man.

there’s a lot a decent amount of libs in the black hills.

also was SHOCKED at the mask usage in Wyoming. They weren’t common 3 weeks ago and now 75% of people had them and I got no funny looks everyone was chill. They even had signs on the interstate telling you to wear them.

idk, I feel like libs are scared of cowboy county though.

I feel like the way to turn the west blue is pro labor. You can’t attack mining, oil or logging.

Yeah my pops will check people like this when they bring **** to them, like where you hear this? It's not on any news source, did you google? Not me, we can't even begin to debate if we're not even working on the same set of facts. I really hope this admin makes education a super duper priority. We can't fix this gen, maybe next one.

I have a client in Billings who I use to visit a few times a year. It’s feally nice out there. Unfortunately it’s a place where old rich people go to retire a lot so it’s hard. I mean the client I work with, my immediate contacts in senior and middle management id consider them like me, center left so liberals exist but you need to be careful just how much left you push with people like them.

hopefully I can go out there a few times again this year. I really enjoy the food and fly fishing out there.

Montana is super dope. I was trying to head out there too but don’t have the time this week. It’s a lot more expensive though like you said.

I don’t work in the winter so whenever I’m bored or sick of the city I just roll out here and it’s dirt cheap.

the political vibe I get out here is just do you and I’ll do me.

like I really don’t feel like anyone gives a damn about anything trump says and I have seen zero trump crap. There’s way more in mn.

just don’t take their guns, oil and mining

My black *** feeling like Shawty Lo right now

Well goddamn, it must be two Montanas

From talking to people that are from the Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana area, there is a common theme of much of their politics. A Guardian doc from a couple of years ago summarized it well...

Montana only supports Democrats they think are one of them and separate from the National Party.

Yeah it’s def far fetched to make it blue out there and it would never happen past a state level unless people came from other places.

you could have a pro mining, pro union democrat win out here for sure on a local level.

president ? F no :lol

People are coming in from blue states though.

vox had an article on this I think.

suggesting moving government agencies to swing states and starting more universities and research parks?

that might do the trick?
They tried this with an agency moving from DC to KC and they said most ppl quit or switched agencies instead of moving  ....Even the dude that was trying to recruit me to that job couldn’t help but sound disappointed yo was living in Missouri now :lol

The Census Bureau got a problem keeping people cause folk don't want to keep having to go out to Suitland, MD every day

You tell people they gotta move to Cincinnati, mother****ers gonna put in their notice and request transfers like crazy
Speaking of Cincinnati , one of my ATL joints moved out there for a job n lasted 2 months before coming back...Said the best thing bout it was some random taco Tuesday night at a restaurant by her apartment n the fact that COVID got ppl working from home so she can move back

I can’t in good faith co sign sending fellow brovas out to places like Montana, Wyoming n **** :smh: ...Imagine PG and Baltimore cats setting up shop in Boise cuz they govt job sent em out that way :lol

Brah before I got into UNLV, I was considering either going to Wright State or Youngstown State. I was depressed as **** at the thought of having to move to Ohio. Every day I would be pondering where did it all go wrong for ya boy to be going out like...

But politically it is a serious issue for Dems. Midwestern metros not growing at a decent enough clip to counter white voters moving right. Plus it leaves black folk in those areas without opportunities. Investment is needed in those places.

However, for several reasons, I don't like loving the Federal Bureaucracy there to make up for it. The thought of young black folk from Maryland having to go out west to Montana is hilarious. PG dudes he acting as though Waldorf is a foreign country, da **** they gonna do with themselves in Billings Montana  .

People are moving to Boise and Salt Lake City at a decent clip now actually. It is just those states are so deep red you barely see the shifts on the statewide level.

But real talk, if there was something that could cause a great migration of black folk out of the deep South into Wyoming, Utah, Montana, and Idaho. Something that would shift the states culturally and politically, I would be all for it. It would save America's democracy, and empower the black vote instantly. So I hope and dream that somehow that can happen. Cause my black *** sure ain't moving to those areas unless there are hundreds of thousands of the people there too.

We need Steve Kornacki to plan this all out.

“First we take the entire population of the black belt, minus the people in Georgia, then they will reconstitute the exact same formation draped across the mountain west. Now we move those towns in Maryland, we disassemble the towns piece by piece and rebuild them in Ohio and Indians, here and here...”

It’s crazy but not as crazy as the malapportioned Senate. The only way to overcome it may be mass migrations of black and/other Democratic constituencies. But to your point, who makes the first moves?

Your post has me thinking just how screwed black people are in our system, simply from a Geographic stand point in our current system of winner-take-all first-past-the post elections. Even relative to black people’s share of population, black people’s geography dilutes that voting bloc. It’s either in the black belt or a shrinking city in a shrinking State where they are a big share of the population but are boxed in by a white majority that votes at a higher than national average clip for the GOP. That or you’re in a growing metro area in a growing State that is very blue but your share of the population is shrinking.

That’s just the geographic aspect and then consider gerrymandering and racially targeted voter suppression and felony disenfranchisement and the general malignancy of GOP Secretaries of State and it’s a bleak picture in many ways.

Yo so I posted on IG how trumps lawyers are pulling out of the election challenge case in Pennsylvania.. & captioned the article

The point is, that they can't present their evidence in court, because most of their legal representation are reluctant to jeopardize their law licenses. So they want to fight the result politically instead, because deliberately lying to the public carries a lot less consequences, than lying to a judge.

If the "news suggestions" option is enabled on your browser (seems to be a default setting, especially if you open a new page), you get a lot of crap from those websites mixed in with legitimate news outlets.
To the untrained eye, seeing stuff from the Daily Caller sitting right above CNN gives more credence to the former because those people trust the information that's coming from those browsers without a basic understanding of how those browsers place stuff in front of you (paid advertising + preferences learned from browsing habits).

We got some dumb mofos in this country man. If someone tells you white hair is a sign of wisdom, just show them the part where the old lady berates Quist for his ad and says "that's different" when the reporter points out that Gianforte does the same thing.

Congress needs to make a law where there are legal consequences for an elected official or lawyer to knowingly lie to the public. Call it the trump law.
Make the penalty harsh, like 25 yrs in prison 😑

It’s really the best to get Trump voters tied up in “logic” pretzels.
I basically say it this way to Trump voters:
If they had evidence they’d present it so they can win their case, lawyers waste no time on anything if they have something that will get a win. Lawyers have a code of ethics to follow, but if they can win, they figure out a way to use it. Reason why they don’t present their evidence is because even under dubious ethics, they can’t make it work in court.

hence, no evidence.

lol at thinking simple logic will win over trump supporters. their response is something along the lines of "the court system doesn't always get it right" "just because the court didn't rule in their favor doesn't mean there wasn't voter fraud." "the court system is biased against trump" "these corrupt cities and their state judges are part of the cabal trying to take trump down"

I was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming and this documentary is very accurate. Once we moved in 98 I never looked back.

I’m not too savvy on politics, but what the hell are these numbers? These numbers seem wildly off target. Where do they get this ****
