While the timing doesn't make sense (does anything with Trump?), I'm okay with the idea of "beautiful" buildings. Exhibit A being the defunct federal reserve building in Seattle. Look at this pile of crap. It's a relic left over from the 1950s, yet somehow managed to gain historical landmark status. It's a concrete box in the middle of downtown Seattle that can never be torn down. It hasn't been used since 2008, either.

They should turn the building into low income apartments then.

Too late! This is what it looks like now...even dumber than before because they had to preserve the entire original building. All they did was add seven stories and just make it a larger office building. Landmark preservation boards are the worst. Also, there was no way any type of housing was going into that location.

not to #bothsides this cluster**** but Dems generally have a lot to learn about solidarity, actually feeling the pain people are in.

Gavin Newsom and his little winery are a perfect example of how tone-deaf that stuff can come across.

besides, y'all should have known she was out of touch like contactless delivery when she had Congress stomping the yard in Kinte cloth.

all that typed, she's at least trying to try to try, unlike a Mitch McCon.

exactly. it breeds apathy.

how do you sell "hey man they tried their best and got you half a month's rent" to someone about to live outside this winter?

it's fair to ask for more fire.

$600 is not significant at all in 2020. Especially after giving people twice that initially. It's more than a bad adjective. It's shows these politicians have been negotiating on our behalf in bad faith. This breeds more apathy.
So really it is just using a bad objective

She passed a massive stimulus bill in May that had another round of $1200 checks. If it was up to Pelosi well would probably be on the 3rd of 4th round of $1200 checks.

The GOP wanted no more direct payments, her putting her foot down lead to the compromise of $600. Throughout these negotiations, it is clear that the faith actor was Mitch McConnell. Even worse than Trump. Hell he only seemingly warmed up to the entire of more stimulus because lack of it is hurting the GOP Senate candidates in Georgia

This is just some more both sides steez famb, that breeds apathy. It is just finding a way to blame Pelosi for the GOP's *******.

You mean when the Congressional Black Caucus asked her and others to wear the damn thing and they agreed. And then announced a police reform bill

I swear this **** has moved to the category of Hillary's hot sauce, and Kamala comments on her music taste in college.

A criticism held up as a perfect example of Dem tone-deafness, but in reality, doesn't come close to that.

The woman spent months holding press conferences and only on news networks calling out the GOP for their *******.

It is fair to ask for more fire, but it is fair to ignore when she gives more fire only to complain about.....check notes....a poor choice of adjective?

is it not out of touch to have out of touch sources?

I get that you have to counter misinformation in here but I've said enough for folks to understand I believe this is Republicans/conservatives fault first and foremost.

...but for the record, both Hillary and Kamala were wack for those sayings and doings...still competent stateswomen.

that's my point tho...the choice of adjective
tells me this isn't a big deal to her. it doesn't consume her soul, it doesn't boil her guts.

it's like saying a death in someone's family was "less than ideal." to me, that's offensive.

It is out of touch to listen to your black colleagues, that is the complaint now? So it is Pelosi's fault for not consulting with the second group of black people to see if the first group of black people were out of touch, oh ok. Should she then consult with a third group of black people to break the tie?

I am struggling to see how in all seriousness I am supposed to be upset at her for saying yes to the CBC, no matter how goofy it looked. Especially since the important part of the morning was them introducing the George Floyd Bill.

I think folks understand your general position, but nothing I said was in an effort to make people believe you think otherwise. But that criticism handwave the context, it is fair for me to point that out.

Yeah, we gonna have to agree to disagree. Maybe Hillary shouldn't have made that joke, even if she was a collector of hot sauce. But the Kamala **** is utter nonsense imo, I can't see how someone could have an objection to her music taste in college.

So a 17 seconds clip tells you more than her passing bills and complaining about Republicans ******* over families for months?

Because that is my issue if is basically giving one comment more weight than hours of other behavior.

I didn't say "she did nothing." I said "we need more."

yes, in my belief we need elected officials who claim to be on our side to make it constantly clear what our will consists of.

I don't want to hear "significant," I want to hear "inadequate."

I don't want a victory lap, I want an apology, expressions of sincere regret that more could not be done.

I don't wanna hear "both teams played hard."

I want to hear people openly condemn bad faith actors in every word on the subject.

I want FIRE.

now, it doesn't always matter what I want I guess, and hell they have my vote anyway.

I guess.

...but who am I supposed to convert with "hey, we actually did pretty good overall!"

...and Kamala didn't say that she listened to Pac before Pac was out or do I have that wrong? that is wack, wouldn't discard her for it but it's perfectly fair to clown.

These ****s get to sit up here and lie up a storm with zero pushback and you got Manu Raju chasing after Nancy asking about the 1.8t bill (which Mitch was never going to put on the floor). These media cats be disingenuous as hell man

And it leaked they did? They would’ve gotten **** for it for sure. Damned if you do damned if you don’t

I certainly would not have been mad if they had left that alone.

my question on the Kinte cloth is how many black people you know or know of would have advised that for non-comedic purposes?

if the percentage is less than 100 percent, isn't it fair to ask why and how every black voice close to Nancy Pelosi whispered that in her ear?

again, not a deal breaker--sadly--but "out of touch" is the phrase of the day on that one.
