I think the reason he’s been saying is because many of the direct payments are going to individuals that suffered no loss of income due to the pandemic.
And individuals that did lose their jobs are also getting the boosted unemployment. So they aren’t only getting the $600.
At least that’s what I’ve gathered from what he’s said publicly.

I think people aren’t understanding the fact that the checks adjust for your income. All this talk about the bill “benefiting people who make $450k a year” is literal ********. They’d get probably $5 at most. Not only that, but the argument that it would benefit people whose income wasn’t affected during Covid is also dishonest. A family of 4 making $70k a year, even if their income was never negatively affected, should still absolutely get the full $2k. It’s almost impossible to support a family on that. Mitch honestly just doesn’t care. If he cared so much he could have purposes a means test to qualify for the additional 1400 to come at a later date. Why it would be dumb and a cluster F. It could have been done.
He is basically a king and like a king he doesn’t care about anything they jeopardize his power. For him giving social handouts goes aginst his party power and people could learn to like it. This could be used aginst them in the future.

This is exactly why the Republicans oppose the stimulus checks. The tax breaks mostly benefitted the rich. The stimulus checks will not mostly benefit the rich.
That and the Republicans want to sabotage Biden's presidency, so helping people isn't in their interest.

I think you are confusing programs. The discussion was about direct stimulus payments to individuals.
I think you are asking about small business advances.
But no, I don’t plan on giving back the small business advance.
