Getting the starting role has only helped speed up Fields' development and more importantly, confidence.

5 1st rd QBs drafted. No way all 5 are successful. Lawrence, Fields and Jones are all looking good. There’s MAYBE one more of the remaining two who will do well. Time is ticking.

It also helps Dalton's base salary only 3 mil, compare this to Jimmy's salary and it's an easy decision to make for the Bears naming JF the permanent starter.

We need Jimmy to make endless mistakes or get hurt again before Trey gets the opportunity. But for Trey to have the job permanently, Lynch needs to trade Jimmy imo

I get the money aspect, but when you trade all the draft capital to move up, you can’t waste both. Jimmy is wasted money regardless at this point. Should have traded him in the offseason.
