I hope they get a coach who takes into account Choosing a scheme that fits the players instead of choosing if the players fit the scheme.

Dont want the quality players the niners have go to waste

Wish Bruce Miller didn't **** up, talented player.

On a related note, I hope we see the return of the FB position

12 draft picks and 80 mil in cap space? Let's go Lynch, rare that you walk into a situation with a franchise (especially as historic as ours) with that many picks and that much cap room along with (presumably) the coach of your preference.

Jimmy Guwop is there if we really want him with that many draft picks huh? 8o

The 2nd round pick for garap, aint no 2nd pick though.

I can see the 34 pick plus another pick next year depending on how he does. Make it hope lynch

If we moving to 4-3 should we take Jonathan Allen? What's the scheme change mean for twin towers?

The falcons hired BY as their dline coach!! Wtf we should have done that.

Our best player for a 4-3 front might be Ronald Blair. :lol

You know what really sucks? Defo, AA, Solomon thomas and Jonathan Allen all play the same position. Thomas and Allen are most scheme flexible because of their size and skills, but Defo and AA are so damn big they're pretty much limited to a 3-4.

So, if you want to accommodate Defo and AA, you can't grab Allen or Thomas unless you want a bunch of redundancy and congestion at one position.

Damn.... Allen and Thomas are damn good players too. I really hope Kizer steps it up as the clear cut qb. Really like him and his ceiling.

john lynch was on knbr yesterday, and they asked him to identify what the hallmarks are of a john lynch team. he talked about guys who love football, are tough and resilient, but the one physical trait he identified was speed.

Well if it's speed he wants, Reuben Foster is his guy. IMO hands down the best LB in the draft, the most aggressive, and the fastest from end to end vertical or horizontal. I think there's a real good chance the Niners take him with their pick whether or not they trade down.

I like Foster a lot, but there's no way I take him at 2. I think he's too flawed of a player. He's not Willis or Kuechly. I've pointed out his flaws in this thread already.

I also have concerns about his health and long-term durability. He's already suffered 2 concussion at the college level, and he is on record saying he had to lose weight to alleviate "knee problems". What does that mean? tendonitis? some kind of chronic issue?

He talks about it here in this video @ :40. If I picked up on this, you better believe every scout, exec and GM will be looking into this and doing their homework.

Wow. Are you sure you don't wanna work for the 49ers. Maybe start from the bottom as film coordinator or something :lol

Come on, bro. You know me.

Those have been in this thread for years know I do work.

Man I already know :lol

Can't wait for FA and Combine

Tomorrow is gonna be interesting. Press conference. You know Cohn and Kawakami gonna be asking him about the super bowl decision :lol :{

Been getting my red on and digging through film. Found this tidbit about lynch on mm8 and Winston. Gives me a little insight on how he views good qbs

Lol

I fired up the Reuben Foster tape again just to revisit it. Dude is an absolute hammer in the middle of the field. Plays with complete reckless abandon. He hits guys so hard you worry about Foster knocking himself ******ed.

If we do switch to a 4-3, Foster would be a perfect weakside LB next to Bow.

why not wait until jimmy g is a FA next season to get him rather than trading away a 2nd round pick that's close enough to the top to be a late 1st rounder? considering how cheap the patriots are and how expensive QBs are, would they even bother slapping the franchise tag on him?

just read this:

An "exclusive" franchise player must be offered a one-year contract for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player's position as of a date in April of the current year in which the tag will apply, or 120 percent of the player's previous year's salary, whichever is greater.

i could be wrong but the pats would be looking at dropping anywhere between $15 to $20 million to have jimmy g essentially just sit on the bench and watch tom brady for another season. if you're the pats, why waste that money if you know TB12 is cookin and not going away any time soon?

Yo red i was thinkin'..mixon not going to the combine could be a good thing for us since he probably would have killed it. I know his draft stock already took a major hit because of his personal life, which i want to make clear i completely do not agree with, but like i said before if we're just talking about football we can really come up on a gem..
