Staley is 34. Trent is in a contract year and fat and can't play in this scheme.
Not really surprised. McGlinchey was damn good, especially before he switched to the left side. I think people soured on him too early. He might only be a right tackle in the NFL, but he should be a good one.

If he pans out good enough to replace Staley or replace Brown in a trade for some picks we made an ok decision... as long as Minkah, Tremaine Edmunds, Landry and others we just passed on don’t pan out to be all stars

Red81 and I had a discussion last week talking about how impressive McGlinchey can be and we both thought he’d go top 10.
LT is a tough postion to find one you like a lot in a weak class of Offensive tackle prospects then gotta take him.

I mean I understand the pick, but I was hoping for Roquan/Landry. In the end we'll be cheering for him to succeed and he'll probably be excellent in shoring up the RT position.

They do, i didnt think they would go with Minkah. Especially how Colbert came along. Also i think they may have been hesitant to go back to the drinking well with Alabama players, after how Foster (almost) was done..
