The Purdy contract is going to be looked at as a good value deal at this time next year if things go how I think they’re going to go.

This thread should be gold all offseason long though.

I’ll take the chances and let him play out the contract. I’m not fully sold (I know I’m in the minority). I hope I’m wrong, but his ceiling is still Dak (not bad, but not $60 million per year)

If he wants a Dak deal and him and his agent think that’s an expectation and not a shoot high but willing to settle lower type situation then by all means call their bluff.

Dak is a good qb despite all the crap he gets (which I understand given who he’s the starting qb for) and I don’t think he’s worth 60 million. I think the Dak deal is going to make teams in general skeptical of giving non superstar qb’s similar deals moving forward.

If Brock Purdy hits the open market he’s not getting $60 million from another NFL team. No need for the 49ers to outbid themselves. Purdy is better than the skepticism people have about him right now. But use the skepticism to your advantage especially when you know him better than these 31 other teams do. He’s regressed when the talent level around him hasn’t been as good. That sucks. But any qb would have a drop off under similar circumstances. If he turned into Nathan Peterman this season that would be different. He’s held his own though.

Knowing our front office he won't sign until the day before the first game

We dont have to sign him. And we should not sign him.

Its clear that the 49ers are leaking this info

Damn. You caught them red handed. Congratulations. You get a chance to tour the facilities in Dallas with Sleepy Jones as he tries to woo you in for another all in year as you help him figure out how long he should lag before resigning #11

1. Pay Brock.
2. Shake up the coaching staff. (DC, Special Teams, assistants, heck, maybe even Kyle.)
3. Focus on O-line and Defense depth in the draft.
4. Trade Deebo, build the WR group around Aiyuk, JJ, Pearsall
5. Wild thought. What can the Niners get for Bosa. I feel like you can draft/trade for a younger dude with more drive than him at this point.

Restructure Bosa and go after a #1 pass rusher. Bosa unfortunately is no longer a #1 but can still be effective.

We once had Charles Haley, all pro pass rusher deluxe, and won Super Bowls with him.

Then we got rid of him in his prime.

But we immediately retooled with Bryant Young, Dana Stubblefield, Rickey Jackson, and Ken Norton Jr and won another Super Bowl no too long after Haley went to Dallas.

I don’t mind trading Bosa to improve and get younger on the DLine but I have zero faith in York and Lynch to retool like DeBartolo did so that’s that.

I’m only trading Bosa if we get a top 5 pass rusher to replace him, whether it’s thru drafting a can’t miss pass rusher or thru trade.

Superbowl hangover is too real, and pairing that with the Madden Curse is basically checkmate lmao.
But I know this team will turn it around next season, too much talent to not be in the mix. We just need to hit some HRs in the draft like we did in our 2019 draft.

Have to start trying to find guys like Deebo and some actual linemen so Kittle can just get massive targets and receptions.

This. Easy to say trade Bosa away after the year he had. Rightfully so. However, I still think he has a lot of football left in the tank (probably got too districted with the election lol). I think he could actually have a monster bounce back year if were shipped him off somewhere. But I'm in the camp that if we give him up, we better get something solid back in return.
