OFFICIAL STOCK MARKET AND ECONOMY THREAD VOL. A NEW CHAPTER

I low key feel like Ophir was talking about ackman. Stripe was supposed to be it but I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

Any particular comments he made that leads you to believe it wont be Stripe? If there's something concrete, I'll cut my position in half tomorrow.

He didn’t say anything in particular just used the example of having a $1 billion SPAC and targets falling through and having to settle before the money needed to be returned. It was all completely general and I’m reading into it too much. But I think it has to be figured out where would stripe earn more money? Ipo or spac? They’ll want as much cash as possible for acquisitions

I swear I need to chill, Fomo got me yesterday

BNGO, bought in at .83, they had a hell of a day yesterday, me seeing some small, and I mean SMALL profits being loss towards the end of the trading day made me sell, now today they are up even more, bought back in, out 50 shares from initial holding

Did the same thing earlier this year with Kodak, sold 90 shares a day before their historic event, because of Red, missed out on a whole lot of money

What Can I do to stop doing this dum ish lol

You’re trading literal garbage. You should be happy you didn’t see it gap down 40% while you held overnight.

FUBO 26s are inevitable. Could be a place to try some if you wanted to. Not sure if I want to.

dkng is creeping toward my break even. Stop at 45.65 just to protect the position from being a loser.

Hey NT, (just a thank you note and best wishes for the new year, feel free to skip lol)

Its been a long while... work was busy (going back on site made it hard to check in lol), moved homes, just trying to survive day to day without going crazy, also didn't have much $ to work with anymore, etc. (I know I shouldn't have excuses).

Either way, just wanted to reflect on this roller coaster year, I made some dumb mistakes and missed out on good opportunities, but all came with lessons for the future. Thank you to each and every one of you in this thread. Honestly, one of the best, if not the BEST (I'm not following a lot of threads, so I'll give the others that chance lol)

I also wanted to wish every one here the best for 2021, I'm sure its been rough in some way for everyone.
-Hoping things to get better!
-Be sure to take care of yourself and family first. Also invest in yourself - learning something new, working out, eating right, get rid of that toxic **** in your life (if possible)
-We might have the same goals (or different), we will all take different paths to get there, and whatever the situation is, do what is best for yourself and future self.
-If you ever need to reach out to someone, please do for whatever reason. Even talking it out helps.

My $ goals: (I'm hoping this helps me stick with it)
-Read/learn more on investing (I should pick up a book or two), hopefully learn to fundamentals
-Learn more on cypto (hopefully not too late)
-Tighten up budget so I can have more to invest
-Be more active on NT, news to keep up with stock market (we're going back to work from home, so hopefully this helps)

This post was longer then it needed to be, but all the best.

NOW LET'S GO GET THAT MONEY!

TRIT sounds like a **** show. After one issue is explained another comes up.

I’m placing stops in everything but my top 6 stocks. Let the market take me cash, Idc.

Sold all 700c tesla calls.
Gain of 1.1k, sold going down.. Got scared due to same day expiry. My target was 706 which hit now.. Price per contract is 1k each. Lol

Took Netflix calls for next week.
I was looking real hard at those 700c's yesterday since they were relatively cheap. Thought... "nah, it's the last day of the year and week, TSLA wont survive that..."

**** me :lol :{

Def sold too soon.

Yeah I spotted and watched when they were at about 4.50 each yesterday, on the upswing. Quadrupled already in less than 24 hours 0]

Honestly tho, glad TSLA was able to make so many retail investors/traders/gamblers rich this year. Probably wiped out 10x as many, but that happens with most tickers anyways.

Sold net for a nice gain l, z for a minor loss and acuif for a minor loss. Thinking we see more selling next week. Want to hve cash and will go even more cash as my stops hit. Getting crushed in nvta and nvda and FSLY will go red soon. Whatever though those are 5-10 year holds.

I think I mentioned this a few months back, but a friend of mine lost 70k shorting TSLA and a few others. That is how it goes. Just as long as you have the money to play with.

You’re an ******* if you short Tesla for anything more than a cash flow trade. You don’t short stocks just because they’re up too much. You short them on the backside of a parabolic move when there’s a lower high and lower low that you can set your risk against. You should be shorting the backside of moves. Wait and let them exhaust. Look at FUBO. You don’t short that until the first red candle small and add on the second red candle. And you should be using puts not borrowing stock to decrease your overhead risk.

took SDGR. Up to 10% cash now in my Schwab account. Will let the market take me to 50% cash if needed.

What was his account size?
When we use to talk stocks( a few years back) he was very conservative with putting money in his account and trading. The most he's had in his account was 10k. Fast forward to this year, he has put more in his account and has been more aggressive.

Losing that 70k had to hurt then. Yikes!
